Job summary

Tushar Trans Equipment Pvt Ltd is seeking a VMC Operator to operate and set up Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) CNC machines, reading drawings and ensuring components meet quality standards. Freshers with ITI/ Diploma may apply; 1–5 years of VMC experience preferred depending on complexity.

Qualifications

• ITI or diploma in mechanical engineering or related technical trade.
• Experience operating VMC CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of GD&T basics and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with cutting tools, machining parameters, tool offsets, and work offsets.

Responsibilities

• Operate VMC CNC machines to manufacture components per drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions.
• Set up jobs, fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces as required.
• Load and execute CNC programs and verify program accuracy before machining.
• Perform tool setting, workpiece alignment, offset setting, and tool wear compensation.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust cutting parameters when required.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and product quality.
• Identify machining defects, tool wear, machine alarms, and operational abnormalities.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication as per procedures.
• Maintain production records and inspection reports.

Job Summary

The VMC Operator is responsible for operating and setting up Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, production plans, and quality standards. The role involves machine operation, tool setting, component inspection, troubleshooting, and maintaining production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate VMC CNC machines to manufacture components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions.
• Set up jobs, fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces as per production requirements.
• Load and execute CNC programs and verify program accuracy before machining.
• Perform tool setting, workpiece alignment, offset setting, and tool wear compensation.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust cutting parameters when required.
• Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and product quality.
• Identify machining defects, tool wear, machine alarms, and operational abnormalities.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication as per company procedures.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports, and tool consumption details.
• Follow safety procedures, 5S practices, and company quality standards.
• Coordinate with the quality and maintenance departments to resolve production issues.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, or a related technical trade.
• Experience operating VMC CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi is preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T basics.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, tool offsets, and work offsets.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of production quality standards and workplace safety.

Experience

• Fresher: ITI / Diploma candidates with basic CNC/VMC training may apply.
• Experienced: Typically 1–5 years of VMC operating experience, depending on the complexity of the job.
