Avinya Miltech seeks a skilled CNC/VMC Operator to manufacture components per engineering drawings. You will set up workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools, load and run CNC programs, and adjust offsets to ensure accuracy.

You will read drawings with GD&T, inspect parts with measuring instruments, monitor tool wear and surface finish, and collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to maintain high safety and quality standards.

Formación

• Diploma or ITI with machine operation course (CNC/VMC preferred).
• Hands-on experience operating VMC machines in manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Basic understanding of CNC programming, work offsets, and tool offsets.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and machining parameters.
• Skill in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
• Attention to detail, safety awareness and quality focus.
• Experience in Defence/Aerospace/Precision manufacturing preferred.
• Experience machining aluminium, stainless steel, or other engineering materials is an added advantage.

Role & responsibilities

• Operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines to manufacture components as per engineering drawings.


• Set up workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools for machining operations.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and job instructions.


• Inspect machined parts using measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or ITI in a relevant trade, with a machine operation course (preferably CNC / VMC machining).


• Hands-on experience in operating VMC machines in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.


• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.


• Basic understanding of CNC programming, work offsets, and tool offsets.


• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and machining parameters such as speeds and feeds.


• Skill in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.


• Attention to detail, safety awareness, and a quality-focused approach.


• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, or Precision Manufacturing environments is preferred.


• Experience in machining aluminium, stainless steel, or other engineering materials is an added advantage.
