Qualifications

• Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs for automation applications.
• Develop and configure HMI applications including screens, alarms, trends, and operator controls.
• Perform virtual commissioning using simulation and emulation environments.
• Validate PLC logic, sequence control, interlocks, alarms, and machine operations in a virtual environment.
• Coordinate with Controls, Simulation, Electrical, and Project teams for project execution.
• Prepare commissioning reports and troubleshooting logs.
• Support on-site commissioning activities when required.

About Role :

We are looking for a Virtual Commissioning Engineer with hands‑on experience in PLC programming, HMI development, and Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley platforms.

The role will be responsible for developing, testing, debugging, and validating automation programs in a virtual commissioning environment before deployment at the customer site.

The engineer will work closely with Controls, Simulation, Electrical Design, and Project teams to ensure that automation systems are functionally validated and ready for physical commissioning

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs for industrial automation applications.
• Develop and configure HMI applications including screens, alarms, trends, status displays, and operator controls.
• Work extensively with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs, including Studio 5000 / RSLogix platforms.
• Perform virtual commissioning of automation systems using simulation and emulation environments.
• Validate PLC logic, sequence control, interlocks, alarms, permissives, and machine operations in a virtual environment.
• Integrate PLC programs with simulated machines, equipment, and production processes.
• Identify and troubleshoot PLC logic, communication, sequencing, and functional issues before on‑site commissioning.
• Perform I/O validation and signal mapping between PLC, HMI, and simulation environments.
• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and prepare systems for site commissioning.
• Review electrical drawings, I/O lists, control narratives, sequence descriptions, and functional specifications.
• Coordinate with Controls Engineers, Simulation Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Project Managers for project execution.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, test records, commissioning reports, and troubleshooting logs.
• Support on‑site commissioning activities when required.
• Follow company engineering standards, programming guidelines, quality procedures, and project‑specific requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs.
• Good knowledge of Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
• Understanding of Virtual Commissioning / Digital Twin / Simulation concepts.
• Experience with automation simulation platforms will be an advantage.
