Job summary

Comaea Consulting in Mumbai invites applications for Vessel Performance Operations Specialist (Hull). The role focuses on hull performance and biofouling management across the fleet, ensuring vessel efficiency and regulatory compliance.

You will lead hull inspections, coordinate cleaning and grooming, monitor vessel performance, and collaborate with Chartering and Operations to optimize costs and maintenance history.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
• Prior sailing experience as 2nd Officer, preferably 12+ months.
• 2 years in shipping with hull management or vessel performance exposure.
• 3–5 years shore-based fleet performance/technical operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Track long-stay vessels and plan hull actions timely.

Vessel Performance Operations Specialist (Hull)

(Based in Mumbai)

Your Role:

As part of the Vessel Performance team, you will be primarily responsible for managing hull performance and biofouling while supporting wider fleet performance initiatives. The role is hands‑on, requiring strong operational and analytical skills to ensure vessel efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost‑effective hull maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor hull condition across the fleet and recommend inspections, grooming, and antifouling runs
• Track long‑stay vessels and plan timely hull actions
• Arrange and oversee hull cleaning, inspections (UWI/C), and grooming operations to meet performance and compliance standards
• Ensure compliance with NZ/MPI/AU biofouling regulations and maintain validity for hull loggers
• Verify invoices against work scope and monitor vendor service quality
• Provide operational advice to Chartering and Operations on hull cleaning availability, costs, and drydock/inspection history
• Support legal cases by providing evidence for hull fouling disputes
• Collaborate with fleet performance colleagues in Mumbai and Dubai on broader vessel efficiency initiatives

Your Profile:

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or related field of study.
• Prior sailing experience as 2nd Officer (preferably with minimum 12 months sailing experience as a deck officer)
• Preferably 2 years experience in the shipping industry, ideally with exposure to hull management, vessel performance, or technical operations.
• Preferably 3 to 5 years shore‑based experience in fleet performance / technical operations with strong understanding of vessel operations, hull performance, and compliance requirements.
• Good coordination and communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
