Job summary

Marysadan in India seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to lead and optimize our vehicle and equipment operations, ensuring availability, roadworthiness and cost-effective utilization to support timely material delivery for construction projects. You will plan deployment, supervise drivers and staff, monitor fuel consumption, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with motor vehicle regulations.

  • Plan deployment and scheduling to meet project delivery needs.
  • Ensure regular maintenance and roadworthiness of all assets.
  • Monitor fuel usage, movements, and utilization using logbooks and GPS.
  • Coordinate with drivers, site teams, and procurement for spares.
  • Maintain vehicle documentation including RC, insurance, permits, and PUC.
  • Ensure compliance with Motor Vehicle Act and related regulations.
  • Prepare reports on fleet utilization, cost, and performance.

Job Objectives

To lead and optimize the company's fleet operations by managing all vehicles and equipment, ensuring their availability, roadworthiness, and cost-effective utilization to support timely delivery of materials and seamless execution of construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage and oversee the entire fleet of company vehicles including trucks, equipment, and light vehicles.
  • Plan and schedule vehicle deployment to meet project and material delivery requirements.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and roadworthy at all times.
  • Monitor and track vehicle movements, fuel consumption, and utilization through logbooks and GPS systems.
  • Coordinate with drivers, operators, and site teams for efficient vehicle allocation.
  • Manage vehicle documentation including RC, insurance, fitness certificates, permits, and PUC.
  • Ensure compliance with Motor Vehicle Act, road transport regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee vehicle breakdowns, repairs, and coordination with workshops and service centers.
  • Manage and control fleet operating costs including fuel, maintenance, repairs, and tyres.
  • Supervise and manage drivers and vehicle operators including attendance, conduct, and performance.
  • Prepare and submit vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance cost reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement for spare parts, tyres, and consumables.
  • Assist in procurement of new vehicles and disposal of old/condemned fleet assets
  • Manage and optimize fleet deployment and vehicle scheduling
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance, servicing, and roadworthiness
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle movement, and utilization
  • Manage vehicle documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise drivers, operators, and vehicle-related staff
  • Prepare fleet performance, cost, and utilization reports
Qualifications:
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering or any relevant qualification.
  • Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence is an added advantage.
  • Certificate in fleet management or transport operations preferred.
Years of Experience

5 to 10 Years of experience in fleet management, vehicle operations, or transport management, preferably in construction or infrastructure sector

Person Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fleet management, and transport operations.
  • Familiarity with Motor Vehicle Act, road transport regulations, and permit requirements.
  • Experience in managing GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
  • Good understanding of fuel management and cost control in fleet operations.Strong leadership and team management skills for supervising drivers and operators.
  • Good organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.
