Job summary

Ethos in Bengaluru, an on-site opportunity, seeks an Underwriting Quality Auditor to join its life insurance underwriting team. You will audit cases, evaluate risk decisions, and drive improvements in evidence quality and documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in life/health underwriting, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of APS/EHR/Lab PIQ interpretations and US guidelines. You will collaborate with training to raise quality standards and automate where possible.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate in Medicine or related field; MBBS/Nursing/Pharma preferred.
• 5+ years in Life/Health Insurance underwriting with exposure to quality/audit functions.
• Strong knowledge of APS/EHR/Lab PIQ interpretation and US-based underwriting guidelines.
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication for feedback and reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for trend analysis and scorecards.

Responsibilities

• Track and report quality metrics — error rates, decision accuracy, and SLA compliance.

• Contribute to process improvement, SOP enhancement, and automation initiative.

About the role

The Underwriting Quality Auditor ensures the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of underwriting decisions by conducting structured case audits, identifying quality gaps, and driving continuous improvement across the underwriting function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong communication for feedback and reporting
