Job summary

Takeda in Bengaluru is seeking a Transition Wave Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of transition waves within the assigned BU/BF scope. You will ensure delivery of scope, timelines, and issue resolution while coordinating KT, ramp-up, and go-live activities with the Transition Functional Lead and GCM delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project or program management, transition management, or operational change initiatives.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end transition waves or major initiatives covering planning, knowledge transfer, ramp-up, go-live, stabilization and cutover.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of individual transition waves, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, milestones, and issue resolution.
• Maintain detailed wave plans across KT, ramp-up, go-live, and stabilization.
• Track and report wave progress, risks, and issues to the Transition Functional Lead, PMO and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate KT activities to ensure KT on schedule and milestones are met.
• Support continuity of critical business operations across the assigned wave.
• Coordinate with BU/BF teams, SMEs, site leads and GCM delivery teams for all wave activities.
• Support governance with stage-gate reviews and provide status inputs for go/no-go decisions.
• Coordinate wave-level hypercare and stabilization to track service performance against SLAs and KPIs.

Job Description

The Transition Wave Manager is accountable for managing the day-to-day execution of individual transition waves within their assigned BU/BF scope, ensuring delivery of scope, timelines, and issue resolution. The role coordinates all wave activities across planning, Knowledge Transfer (KT), and ramp-up phases, working in close collaboration with the Transition Functional Lead and GCM delivery teams to ensure seamless and compliant transition execution, aligned with GCM execution standards and ensuring continuity of critical operations.

Accountabilities

Wave Ownership & Execution

• Manage end-to-end execution of individual transition waves, ensuring adherence to scope,

timelines, milestones, and issue resolution

• Support and maintain detailed wave plans across KT, ramp-up, go-live, and stabilization


• Track and report wave progress, risks, and issues to the Transition Functional Lead, PMO and

relevant stakeholders

Functional Accountability

• Support the Transition organization in maintaining continuity of critical business operations

across the assigned wave

Knowledge Transfer & Readiness

• Coordinate with the KT PMO to ensure KT activities are on schedule and completed in line

with wave milestones

• Track SME availability, KT completion rates, and documentation sign-offs


• Escalate delays or readiness gaps to the Transition organization

Stakeholder & Governance Management

• Act as the day-to-day coordination point between BU/BF teams, SMEs, site leads and GCM

delivery teams for all wave activities

• Support strong compliance and governance with stage-gate reviews and provide wave-level

status inputs for go/no-go decisions

Stabilization & Business-as-Usual Transition

• Coordinate wave-level hypercare and stabilization activities to track service performance

against agreed SLAs and KPIs

• Support the smooth handover of wave activities into steady-state operations

Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral)

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in project or program management, transition management, or

operational change initiatives within global organizations

• Proven experience leading end-to-end transition waves or major operational change

initiatives, covering transition planning, knowledge transfer, ramp-up, go-live, stabilization and

cutover phases

Technical Competencies

• Strong project management skills with ability to develop and maintain critical path

management, integrated transition and wave plans

• Ability to apply transition methodologies and frameworks, including knowledge transfer,

readiness assessments, and stage-gate governance

• Financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage transition costs, assumptions,

and value realization

Behavioral Competencies

• Strong coordination and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams

simultaneously in a matrix organization

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced, time-sensitive transitions
