THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of its global transformation, a leading US-based insurance firm is establishing its Innovation Center India as a strategic capability hub to drive its next generation of a global talent footprint, workforce strategy and enterprise capabilities.

The India Innovation Center is envisioned to be set up as a scaled, multi‑functional Innovation Center supporting its U.S. business and other geographies across technology, business operations and advanced CoEs/capabilities including AI/GenAI, Data Engineering and Cybersecurity.

We are seeking an experienced and results‑driven Transition Manager to manage the day‑to‑day planning, coordination and execution of business, technology and corporate function transitions from global headquarters locations and/or vendor partners into India Innovation Center. Working under the direction of the Transition Leader, the Transition Manager will partner with global process SMEs and workstream leads to drive transition planning, operational readiness, on‑ground knowledge transfer, stakeholder coordination and seamless execution while ensuring business continuity and delivery excellence.

The Transition Manager will serve as the primary operational point of accountability for assigned transition programs, partnering closely with process SMEs, Global Sourcing and Procurement, India Innovation Center teams and HR across global locations to ensure successful migration and stabilization of services.

The Transition Manager will play a critical role in executing established transition methodologies, driving process adherence, ensuring timely transfer of work, operational readiness of teams within India Innovation Center and successful knowledge transfer to enable independent execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transition Planning & Documentation
• Execute end‑to‑end transition plans across offshoring and insourcing work transfers in alignment with the established transition strategy.
• Develop detailed transition plans, milestones, interdependencies and stabilization criteria. Identify risks and design mitigation plans in consultation with stakeholders. Identify impacted stakeholders and support change management & comms initiatives. Document current state roles and processes, support in defining future state workflows, and implement best practices to streamline transitions.
• Transition Execution & Enablement
• Provide on‑ground execution support to process SMEs and workstream leads to execute knowledge transfer through classroom training, work shadow, reverse work shadow, conduct assessment with HR.
• Manage dual run while ensuring seamless BAU operations.
• Support transition governance activities, including stage gate reviews, risk management, change management and communication plans in accordance with established governance frameworks.
• Assess operational readiness across transition phases and support go‑live readiness before cutover of operations to India Innovation Center.
• Actively monitor risks, RAID log and mitigate service disruption risk during transition. Coordinate execution of change management and communication activities for impacted stakeholders based on defined framework and methodology.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting
• Support Transition Leadership in driving stakeholder discussions by providing transition updates, execution insights and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with global business teams, Global Sourcing and Procurement, HR, Technology and Operations teams to ensure successful transition delivery.
• Prepare governance materials, transition dashboards, status reports and key performance insights for leadership reviews.
• Escalate risks, issues and dependencies in a timely manner and support implementation of agreed mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with global and local stakeholders to ensure timely execution of transition activities.
• Service Readiness & Stabilization
• Ensure operational readiness prior to go‑live through readiness assessments and control validation.
• Validate service continuity plans, process controls and compliance requirements before handover.
• Ensure achievement of agreed SLAs, KPIs, and customer experience metrics post‑transition. Provide structured transition‑to‑operations handovers to business and delivery teams. Monitor stabilization performance and implement corrective actions where required. Ensure sustainable governance and support mechanisms are established for BAU operations.
• Transition Process Excellence
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of transition methodologies, templates, playbooks and governance standards by capturing lessons learned and best practices.
• Support capability‑building initiatives through knowledge sharing, documentation and continuous improvement of transition processes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and optimize transition approaches while enhancing speed, quality and business outcomes.
• Maintain transition documentation, reusable assets and metrics to improve transition maturity over time.

WHAT YOULL NEED:

• Experience: 12+ years of total work experience with 10+ years of experience in transition management, program delivery, outsourcing, GCC/shared services setup or transformation roles within enterprises, consulting firms or global systems integrators. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Preference for candidates with experience working across global markets such as the US, Europe and APAC along with exposure in setting up GCC/shared services, outsourcing programs with Tier 1 third‑party players.
• Transition execution: Proven experience planning and executing complex transition programs across all phases including due diligence, planning, knowledge transfer, migration, go‑live, stabilization and operational handover.
• Global delivery & outsourcing expertise: Strong understanding of global delivery models across technology, operations, infrastructure, applications development & maintenance, BPO and shared services environments.
• Stakeholder management: Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders, local leadership, vendors and cross‑functional teams while driving alignment, governance and customer satisfaction.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex operational and technical concepts in a structured, concise and impactful manner to executive stakeholders.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: Proven success working within matrixed and cross‑cultural organizations, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity and collaborate effectively across business, technology and operations functions.
