Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Transition Lead to manage complex IT infrastructure movements across global clients. You will plan, govern and execute end-to-end transitions, ensure readiness and sign-off, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve smooth handoffs.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of program and transition experience, strong ITIL knowledge, and excellent stakeholder management skills.

• Lead end-to-end transition programs from contract signing to steady-state operations.

• Plan and execute KT, Playback Sessions, and service acceptance.
• Drive operational readiness reviews across technology towers.
• Coordinate governance with customers, leadership and global teams.
• Identify risks, dependencies and mitigation actions.
• Support budgeting, resource forecasting and vendor deliverables.

Job Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Services, Managed Services, Service Delivery, or Program Management.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end transitions, transformations, and service onboarding engagements.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, Managed Services lifecycle, and transition frameworks.
• Experience managing knowledge transfer (KT), reverse KT, service validation, and operational readiness activities.
• Expertise in transition planning, governance, risk management, resource onboarding, and delivery setup.
• Experience working with global customers, delivery teams, vendors, and partner organizations.
• Strong project management skills with exposure to tools such as MS Project, ServiceNow, JIRA, and SharePoint.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams across infrastructure towers, cloud, network, security, workplace, and service desk environments.
• Experience in manufacturing or large enterprise IT outsourcing engagements is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Transition Planning & Execution

• Lead end-to-end transition programs from contract signing through steady-state operations.
• Develop and manage detailed transition plans, milestones, dependencies, and timelines.
• Ensure successful migration of services, processes, tools, documentation, and operational ownership.
• Establish governance structure, reporting mechanisms, and transition controls.

Knowledge Transfer Management

• Plan and execute KT, Reverse KT, Playback Sessions, and Service Acceptance activities.
• Validate process documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Ensure knowledge capture and readiness of support teams before Go-Live.

Service Readiness & Operational Acceptance

• Drive operational readiness reviews across all technology towers.
• Ensure SLA, KPI, monitoring, escalation, support model, and tooling readiness.
• Facilitate service acceptance sign-off from stakeholders.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Conduct weekly and monthly governance reviews with customers and leadership teams.
• Provide transition status reports, RAID logs, executive dashboards, and milestone updates.
• Manage customer expectations and coordinate cross-functional teams globally.

Risk & Dependency Management

• Identify transition risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Track critical actions and drive closure through governance forums.
• Escalate impediments proactively to minimize transition delays.

Resource & Financial Management

• Coordinate onboarding of resources, access provisioning, training, and environment readiness.
• Support budgeting, resource forecasting, and transition cost tracking.
• Manage third-party vendors and partner deliverables during transition phases.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

• Drive process optimization, automation, and standardization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for service transformation and operational efficiency.
• Support transition-to-transformation roadmaps and service improvement plans.
