Job summary

Amor Management Consultants is seeking a Senior Engineer - Tooling (Aluminium Extrusion Die) for Thenepalle, Chittoor. The role focuses on aluminium extrusion die design, development, optimisation, and tooling maintenance to ensure high profile quality and process stability.

You will review drawings, coordinate with die manufacturers and tooling vendors, run die trials, analyze defects, and drive continuous improvement through 5S and Kaizen.

Position: Senior Engineer - Tooling (Aluminium Extrusion Die)

Exp: 5 - 10 years

Location: Thenepalle, Chittoor.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for aluminium extrusion die and tooling development, maintenance, performance, and optimization.
• Review customer drawings, profile specifications, and extrusion requirements to assess die feasibility and appropriate tooling selection.
• Coordinate with die manufacturers and external tooling vendors for die design, manufacturing, modification, repair, and trial activities.
• Plan, execute, and monitor die trials on extrusion presses, ensuring profile quality, dimensional accuracy, and process stability.
• Analyse extrusion defects and identify die- and tooling-related root causes, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate die corrections, modifications, rework, polishing, and reconditioning to achieve the required profile dimensions and quality standards.
• Maintain comprehensive die history, trial reports, correction records, die life, and performance data.
• Develop and maintain effective die maintenance, storage, identification, and preservation systems.
• Monitor die performance, productivity, scrap levels, die life, and tooling-related costs to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Design, and Marketing teams for new profile development and successful product launches.
• Support the development of new dies, profiles, hollow sections, solid sections, and special profiles based on customer requirements.
• Maintain tooling inventory and ensure the availability of critical dies, tooling components, and consumables.
• Coordinate with vendors for die manufacturing, nitriding, polishing, repair, reconditioning, and other specialized tooling processes.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, cost-reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement across tooling activities.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety requirements, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
