Job summary

Welmade Locking Systems Pvt Ltd is seeking a senior Tool Design Lead to drive end-to-end die-casting tool development for Aluminium and Zinc components. You will oversee concept through production release, lead design reviews, and ensure compliance with customer specs and internal standards.

The role requires 12–15 years in HPDC tool design, strong CAD/CFD skills, and proven leadership in cross-functional settings. You will mentor a high-performing team and optimize tooling performance.

Qualifications

• Education: relevant degree as stated.
• 12–15 years in die-casting tool design, HPDC preferred.
• Experience from concept to production on tool development.
• Strong CAD and simulation skills, GD&T knowledge.
• Proven leadership, cross-functional coordination and customer handling.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Lead and manage the Tool Design function for die-casting tools, ensuring timely andcost-effective project execution.
• Drive complete tool development from concept design to production release forAluminium and Zinc die-casting components.
• Review and approve tool designs, DFM studies, mould flow analysis, and engineeringchanges.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with customer requirements, qualitystandards, and internal design guidelines.
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, budgets, and on-time delivery oftooling projects.
• Coordinate with Product Development, Production, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance,Vendors, and Customers for successful project execution.
• Guide the team during tool trials, validation, troubleshooting, and implementationof corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce tooling costs, improve die life,enhance productivity, and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Develop and standardize tool design practices, engineering documentation, and designstandards.
• Build and mentor a high-performing design team through performance management,training, and skill development.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, simulation tools, materials, and bestpractices to improve tool performance and operational efficiency.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing technical support, participating intechnical discussions, and delivering robust tooling solutions.

Competency (Candidate Profile)

• Education: NTTF/GTTC / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Tool Engineering(M. Tech preferred).
• Experience: 12–15 years in die-casting tool design (HPDC preferred) with experiencein complete tool development from concept to production.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HPDC/LPDC/GDC die design, DFM, GD&T, CAD(Creo/NX/CATIA/SolidWorks), mould flow simulation (MAGMA/Flow-3D/Pro CAST), toolsteels, CNC/EDM, and die-casting processes.
• Leadership Skills: Team leadership, project management, cross-functionalcoordination, customer handling, and resource planning.
• Behavioural Competencies: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication,decision-making, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
