Job summary

Endurance Technologies in Pune is seeking a seasoned tool design engineer for LPDC/HPDC die casting projects. You will develop tool concepts, create 3D models, assemblies, drawings and BOMs, and perform design calculations to optimize feed systems.

You will run casting simulations, implement design improvements, and coordinate with tool room, production, and quality teams to ensure First Time Right tool design and a smooth production ramp.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of aluminium cast components for Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
• Exposure to both LPDC / HPDC die development projects.
• Strong understanding of casting simulation and tool optimization techniques.
• Proven ability to independently handle complete tool design lifecycle from concept to production release.

Role & responsibilities

Process Optimization

• Collaborate with process engineers to optimize casting quality and productivity.
• Analyse casting defects and implement corrective design solutions.
• Support tool trials, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
• Ensure achievement of First Time Right (FTR) tool design objectives.

Cross Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with tool room, production, quality, and project teams.
• Participate in design reviews and customer discussions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and casting processes.
• Maintain design records, simulation reports, and project documentation.

Key Deliverables / Accountabilities

• Timely completion of LPDC/HPDC tool designs as per project schedules.
• First Time Right feed system and die design implementation.
• Reduction in casting defects through optimized tool design.
• Successful tool trials and smooth production launch.
• Improved casting yield, productivity, and quality performance.
• Compliance with customer and internal engineering standards.
