RightData is seeking a Technical Writer/Document Specialist to join our Product Organization and support the documentation needs of our flagship products and platforms. This role is critical in shaping how customers, partners, and internal teams understand, adopt, and successfully use our products. The ideal candidate will have strong product understanding, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality product documentation including product guides, user manuals, installation and configuration manuals, release notes, upgrade guides, how-to articles, FAQs, and troubleshooting content
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Support teams to understand features, workflows, and technical nuances
- Translate complex technical concepts into simple, structured, and easy-to-consume content for different audiences including admins, end users, and partners
- Own documentation across the product lifecycle - from early feature design to GA and post-release updates
- Ensure documentation is consistent, accurate, and aligned with product changes and releases
- Contribute to documentation standards, templates, and best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist in a product or SaaS environment
- Strong product understanding mindset - ability to think like a user, not just document features
- Excellent written English with a focus on clarity, structure, and usability
- Hands-on experience creating installation and configuration guides, release notes, and how-to content
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, Git, or similar
Nice to Have
- Experience documenting enterprise, data, or platform products
- Familiarity with APIs, cloud, Kubernetes, or modern software architectures
- Exposure to UX writing or information architecture
- Ability to create diagrams, workflows, or lightweight visuals
