Job summary

Fable Fintech is looking for a skilled Java Production Support engineer to join our team in Mumbai Suburban, India. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Java Production Support, with a focus on Unix/Linux commands, SQL optimization, and incident handling in a 24/7 support environment.

Key responsibilities include administering Unix/Linux systems, troubleshooting SQL queries, and responding to alerts in adherence to ITIL processes. Experience in the banking domain and knowledge of monitoring and ticketing tools is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems.
• Hands-on experience with SQL including queries and performance tuning.
• Experience in incident handling and production support (L1/L2).

Job description

The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in Java Production Support , strong knowledge in UNIX/LINUX commands Database (MySQL, Oracle PL/SQL), complex SQL queries, Payment gateways, Banking domain experience is a plus. 24/7 support environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Unix System Support

• Administer and maintain Unix/Linux environments
• Perform system health checks, log analysis, and performance tuning
• Manage file systems, processes, and user permissions
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting

SQL & Database Support

• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries
• Monitor database performance and resolve database-related issues
• Handle data validation, backups, and recovery support
• Support database deployments and patching activities

Incident Handling & Problem Management

• Respond promptly to alerts, incidents, and service requests
• Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
• Maintain documentation of incidents, solutions, and procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
• Hands-on experience with SQL (queries, joins, performance tuning)
• Experience in incident handling and production support (L1/L2)
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python preferred)
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, etc.)
