ABOUT TECHNOCHEM INDUSTRIES

Technochem Industries (brand: Osaka) is a Pune based manufacturer of industrial surface coating and finishing systems, established in 1999. We design, build, install and commission turnkey solutions including conveyorised powder coating plants, liquid and powder robotic painting systems, electrostatic spray and bell applicators, phosphating and pre-treatment lines, industrial curing and drying ovens, and overhead and ground conveyors. We serve automotive, auto component, aerospace, heavy fabrication and general engineering customers across India.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

Drive sales of powder coating powders (authorized brands such as Asian PPG,and Nerolac), grow and retain the customer base, and act as a technical guide on powder selection, shades and finishes.

SCOPE OF THIS ROLE

This role is focused purely on powder coating powders as a consumable product (for example wrinkle, texture, satin and metallic shades). The core of the job is growing sales, tracking customers, and securing purchase orders and payments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive and grow sales of powder coating powders across shades, finishes and chemistries (epoxy, polyester, epoxy polyester hybrid, and effect finishes such as wrinkle, texture, matt, satin and metallic).
• Identify, develop and convert new customers (powder coating job shops, OEMs, fabricators, and appliance, furniture, architectural and electrical segments) and grow share of wallet with existing accounts.
• Track customers and enquiries, maintain a clear sales funnel, and drive repeat orders.
• Gather purchase orders and follow up diligently on payments and collections.
• Advise customers on the right powder for their substrate, application and end use: shade, gloss, film thickness, cure schedule and durability.
• Coordinate stock, sample dispatch, shade approvals and timely delivery.
• Handle first level troubleshooting of powder related finish issues (coverage, shade variation, gloss, orange peel, adhesion) with support from the supplier technical team.
• Track competition and market pricing and report trends and opportunities.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales, order booking and collection targets.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (MUST HAVE)

• Sound understanding of powder coating powders: chemistries (epoxy, polyester, hybrid) and finishes (smooth, matt, texture, wrinkle, metallic) and where each is used.
• Knowledge of how substrate, pre-treatment, film thickness and cure schedule affect final finish, shade and durability.
• Ability to read customer shade, gloss and specification requirements and recommend the correct powder.
• Understanding of quality parameters such as shade matching, batch consistency, gloss, DFT, adhesion and salt spray.
• Familiarity with end use segments: appliance, furniture, architectural, electrical, auto components and general fabrication.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or degree in Chemical, Paint, Polymer or Surface Coating Technology, or equivalent hands on experience with coatings.
• 2 to 5 years in sales of powder coating powders, industrial paints, coatings or allied chemical consumables.
• Experience selling powder coatings or industrial paints for a manufacturer or authorized dealer.

Must be able to travel as per project requirement
