Job summary

IMTMA, India, seeks an experienced Training & Development lead to design and deliver advanced manufacturing programs for engineers and shop floor professionals.

You will develop curricula, conduct sessions, organize practical demonstrations, and create training materials while assessing learner progress and staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Around 10 years of experience in machine tool design, manufacturing technology, or related fields.
  • Certifications in advanced manufacturing or training and development are advantageous.
  • Experience designing and delivering corporate training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs for advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, IoT, AI, data analytics).
  • Deliver engaging training sessions for beginners to advanced learners.
  • Organize hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises.
  • Create and maintain high-quality training materials (presentations, manuals, guides, online resources).
  • Assess trainee progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt methods as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with latest manufacturing tech trends and integrate them into curricula.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to tailor training programs.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve training effectiveness; maintain training records.

Job description

Functions:
  • Curriculum Development: Design and create comprehensive training programs for advanced manufacturing technologies, including topics such as automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, IoT applications, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions to employees, ranging from beginners to advanced learners, ensuring they gain a deep understanding of the subject matter and can effectively apply it in real-world manufacturing settings.
  • Hands-on Demonstrations: Organize and facilitate practical demonstrations and hands‑on exercises to enable participants to practice using advanced manufacturing technologies and tools.
  • Training Materials: Develop and maintain high-quality training materials, including presentations, manuals, guides, and online resources to support the learning process.
  • Skill Assessment: Assess the progress and competence of trainees, provide constructive feedback, and adapt training methods as needed to address individual learning needs.
  • Technology Updates: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in advanced manufacturing technologies trends and integrate this knowledge into the training programs to ensure relevancy.
  • Customer Engagement: Work closely with the customers in manufacturing sector and other stakeholders to understand their specific training requirements and tailor training programs accordingly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Training Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and trainee performance to track the impact of the training program.

Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.


Experience requirements : Machine tool design, Manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field with around 10 years of experience. Relevant certifications in advanced manufacturing technologies or training and development would be advantageous.

Machine Tool Design Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of machine tool design principles.
  • Familiarity with various types of machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders).
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and design tools. Eg., Solid works
  • Kinematics of Machines
  • Tooling and Fixture designing
  • Ball screw and LM Guideways
  • FEA / FEM preferable
Mechanical Engineering:
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Strength of Materials and Engineering Mechanics
  • Proficiency in materials science, mechanics, and thermodynamics.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Analytical design calculations
Manufacturing Processes:
  • Understanding of different manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, casting).
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and operations.
Technical Problem‑Solving:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.Aptitude for developing innovative solutions in machine tool design.
Industry Standards & Safety:
  • Awareness of industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in machine tool operation and design.
  • Training Experience: Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs related to advanced manufacturing technologies, ideally in a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to a diverse audience.
  • Instructional Design: Strong skills in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles to create effective and engaging training materials.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify challenges and roadblocks in the learning process and implement innovative solutions to address them effectively.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility to adjust training approaches based on the learning styles and needs of trainees.
  • Team Player: Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams to understand their training requirements and integrate them into the training program.
  • Technology Enthusiast: Passionate about advanced manufacturing technologies and committed to staying updated with the latest developments in the field.
