Job summary

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) in Pune seeks a Senior Executive officer / Asst. Director (Training) to lead automation and advanced manufacturing training for students and industry professionals.

You will design curricula, deliver sessions, assess learners, maintain training infrastructure, and stay current with Industry 4.0 trends, engaging with customers to tailor programs. Reports to the Director Training dept.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical fields is required.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in automation, process design, manufacturing or related fields.
• Certifications in advanced manufacturing technologies or training are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom and hands-on training in automation and manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, guides, and online resources.
• Coordinate curriculum development and training delivery for learners at varying levels.
• Assess trainee progress, provide feedback, and tailor training methods.
• Maintain and update machine shop infrastructure to support skill development.
• Stay updated with Industry 4.0 trends and integrate into programs.
• Engage with customers in manufacturing to tailor programs to needs.
• Document training sessions, attendance, and outcomes for impact tracking.

Job description

Functions/work profile: (Role Overview):

The Senior Executive officer /Asst. Director (Training) will function as a faculty member and hands-on trainer in the areas of Automation, Process design, Manufacturing, industrial technology and related areas. The role involves delivering and developing classroom and practical training sessions, maintaining machine shop infrastructure, and supporting skill development initiatives for engineering students and industry professionals.

Functions:

• Curriculum Development: Design and create comprehensive training programs for advanced manufacturing technologies, including topics such as automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, IoT applications, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
• Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions to employees, ranging from beginners to advanced learners, ensuring they gain a deep understanding of the subject matter and can effectively apply it in real-world manufacturing settings.
• Hands-on Demonstrations: Organize and facilitate practical demonstrations and hands‑on exercises to enable participants to practice using advanced manufacturing technologies and tools.
• Training Materials: Develop and maintain high-quality training materials, including presentations, manuals, guides, and online resources to support the learning process.
• Skill Assessment: Assess the progress and competence of trainees, provide constructive feedback, and adapt training methods as needed to address individual learning needs.
• Technology Updates: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in advanced manufacturing technologies trends and integrate this knowledge into the training programs to ensure relevancy.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with the customers in manufacturing sector and other stakeholders to understand their specific training requirements and tailor training programs accordingly.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance the overall learning experience.
• Training Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and trainee performance to track the impact of the training program.

Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.

Experience requirements: Automation, Process design, Manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field with around 10 years of experience. Relevant certifications in advanced manufacturing technologies or training and development would be advantageous.
