Job summary

Unimech Aerospace Manufacturing ltd seeks an Assistant Manager Engineering/Production for their Devanahalli location. The ideal candidate should have a B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma with 15 years.

Responsibilities include developing technical training programs and conducting training sessions. Strong knowledge of CNC machining, technical training, and industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong capability in OEM drawing reading, GD&T, and inspection methodologies.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Preferred Profile: Assistant Manager Engineering / Assistant Manager Production.

Qualification

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
• OR
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / Tool & Die with minimum 15 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Experience Requirement

• Hands-on experience in precision manufacturing industries such as Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, or high-precision engineering sectors. Strong shop-floor exposure in CNC machining, NADCAP, and manufacturing engineering environments.
• Experience in handling technical training, process improvement, and operator/engineer skill development programs.

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in CNC Milling, CNC Turning, 3-Axis, 4-Axis & 5-Axis machining, Jigs and Fixture, EDM (Spark and wire cut) and aerospace special processes.
• Expertise in CNC programming and CAM operations using Mastercam and SolidCAM. Good working knowledge in CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, and ZW3D.
• Strong capability in OEM drawing reading, engineering specification reading, GD&T, build-to-print manufacturing, process planning, inspection methodologies, material specifications, Limits, Fits and Engineering tolerance, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Standards Knowledge

• AS9100 – Aerospace quality management standard.
• ASME – Engineering drawing, GD&T, thread, and surface texture standards.
• ISO – Quality, GD&T, tolerances and manufacturing practices.
• JIS – Drawing, threads, and manufacturing.
• ASTM – Material testing and material specification standards.
• AWS – Welding symbols and welding procedures.

Training Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct technical training programs for Engineers, CNC Programmers, Supervisors, Fresh Engineering Graduates.
• Prepare SOPs, skill matrices, training presentations, assessment methodologies, and technical reference documents.
• Conduct classroom and shop-floor practical training sessions.
