Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and supervise remote engineers in a matrix setup.
• Participate in product development and own responsibilities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coach your team and contribute technical expertise to deliver robust, innovative solutions.
• Review design concepts and provide guidance within the team; collaborate with industrial, optical and electrical engineers.
• Monitor and update project execution; improve knowledge management and lifecycle management within engineering.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and stay updated on current industry developments.
• Lead by example and drive technical topics as well as organizational initiatives in a complex international setting.
• Communicate complex technical content in English and German.
• Eligible for a German work permit.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• You will be responsible for a small team of engineers and lead select engineers in remote locations based on their product responsibility in a matrix organization.
• You will participate actively in the product development and take responsibility for those throughout the product lifecycle.
• You will coach your team of engineers and contribute with your technical expertise to deliver robust and innovative technical solutions.
• You will review design concepts and provide technical guidance within your team and closely cooperate with neighbouring disciplines such as industrial, optical and electrical engineering.
• You will monitor and update project execution, improve effective knowledge management and enhance product lifecycle management within the engineering organization.
• You will contribute to our technology roadmap and maintain a good overview of current developments in our industry.
• Degree in mechanical or precision engineering or similar preferably with industry experience (alternative technical degrees with relevant experience will be considered).
• 10+ Years of experience in Mechanical design small products.
• Have a track record in development of optical sensors with a focus on design, tolerancing and industrialization throughout the product lifecycle.
• Show deep interdisciplinary understanding beyond your personal core area of expertise especially with respect to design for manufacturability, design for assembly and product lifecycle.
• Lead by example with the ability to drive not only technical topics but also structural initiatives in a complex international organization.
• Communicate complex technical content verbally and in writing ideally in English and German.
• Eligible for a German work permit.
