Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Compliance Team Lead in Gurgaon, India. This role involves leading the development and reporting of Operational Compliance while managing a team to ensure robust controls and stakeholder satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Compliance or Risk roles, demonstrate leadership skills, and excel in process improvements. You will support audits and drive efficiencies within the team, ensuring service standards are met. The position allows for 3 days remote work and 2 days onsite.

About the Role

TMS Global, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of DS Smith PLC, is a leading provider of corrugated packaging solutions. As our Compliance Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance and reporting of Operational Compliance. You will manage a team of two covering transactional compliance and support stakeholder management, ensuring controls are robust, reporting is accurate and operational risks are effectively managed. You will also support audits, strengthen processes and drive continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Transactional Compliance team to achieve performance goals and maintain high service standards.
• Support Regional and Global Audit requests.
• Ensure all backend administrative tasks are processed accurately, in compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with Client Services team to resolve escalations and conduct investigations.
• Manage global stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery against requirements.
• Work closely with the Head of Shared Service Centre to identify and implement process efficiencies.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in Governance, Compliance or a Risk related role, ideally within a retail operation or back‑office administration environment.
• A proven track record of managing and leading teams to deliver excellence.
• Demonstrable experience of managing global stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Experience of print management, packaging and display would be advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including strong Excel skills.
• Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential.
• Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in process mapping and improvement.
• Strong initiative and ability to follow processes.
