Job Description

Department: Cell Maintenance

Job Title: Team Lead – Cell Maintenance

Reporting To: Lead – Cell Maintenance

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the maintenance operations for our advanced Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant. This role involves ensuring high equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for critical cell manufacturing processes. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining world‑class standards for N-Type TOPCon solar cell production equipment and cleanroom compliance.

Project Phase – Greenfield Setup

Maintenance Planning & Setup:

  • Collaborate with engineering and OEM teams for installation, commissioning, and maintenance readiness of cell manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and SOPs for all critical tools (diffusion, PECVD, PVD, metallization, texturing, cleaning, etc.).
  • Participate in FAT/SAT and ensure maintenance protocols align with ISO Class 1000–10,000 cleanroom requirements.
  • Finalize maintenance contracts and service agreements with equipment suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with SEMI, NFPA, and FM Global standards during installation and maintenance planning.

Maintenance Management:

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for all cell manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor equipment health using MES/SCADA systems and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Drive initiatives for MTBF improvement and MTTR reduction.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to cleanroom protocols during maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams for RCA and CAPA on equipment‑related defects.
  • Build and lead a skilled maintenance team; conduct training on troubleshooting, safety, and cleanroom discipline.
  • Foster a culture of reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, downtime analysis, and spare parts inventory.
  • Prepare MIS reports for management review and audits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Project Phase:

  • Timely readiness of maintenance systems and SOPs.
  • Successful participation in FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
  • Compliance with cleanroom and global standards.

Operational Phase:

  • Equipment uptime and MTBF/MTTR metrics.
  • Reduction in unplanned downtime.
  • Spare parts availability and inventory accuracy.
  • Training hours completed for team development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering.

Certifications/ Trainings:

  • TPM, Predictive Maintenance, Safety Compliance.

Experience: Minimum 10–16 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing maintenance, with strong exposure to high‑purity cleanroom environments.

  • Preferred: Experience in greenfield projects and ramp‑up of maintenance systems for N‑Type TOPCon or similar advanced technologies.

Technical Expertise:

  • Maintenance of Solar Cell Processes: Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Texturing, Cleaning.
  • Cleanroom Operations: ISO Class 1000–10,000 compliance.
  • Automation: MES, SCADA integration for equipment monitoring.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: Standard working hours with occasional requirements for extended hours based on operational needs. Shift-based work may be applicable depending on the role and department.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; however, occasional visits to vendors, training centers, or other company locations may be required.
  • Safety Gear: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, and ear protection is mandatory in designated areas.
