Department: Cell Process & Quality
Job Title: Lead – Cell Process & Quality
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Process & Quality function for our advanced Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant. This role is critical in ensuring robust process control, achieving world‑class quality standards, and driving continuous improvement for N‑Type TOPCon solar cell production. The incumbent will oversee process optimisation, defect reduction, and compliance with international quality norms, ensuring high yield and reliability in a cleanroom environment.
Project Phase – Greenfield Setup
Process Development & Setup:
- Collaborate with technology partners and OEMs for process design and qualification of critical steps (diffusion, PECVD, PVD, metallization, texturing, cleaning, etc.).
- Define process parameters, control plans, and SOPs for all manufacturing stages.
- Participate in FAT/SAT and ensure process validation aligns with ISO Class 1000–10,000 cleanroom standards.
Quality System Establishment:
- Develop and implement Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and SEMI standards.
- Establish incoming, in‑process, and final inspection protocols for raw materials and finished cells.
- Setup SPC, FMEA, and control charts for critical processes.
Process Control & Optimization:
- Monitor and control process parameters to achieve target efficiency and yield.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
- Analyze process deviations and implement corrective actions promptly.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to international quality standards and customer specifications.
- Lead RCA and CAPA for process‑related defects and quality issues.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits for certifications and compliance.
- Build and lead a team of process and quality engineers; provide training on SPC, defect analysis, and cleanroom discipline.
- Foster a culture of quality, precision, and continuous improvement.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of process parameters, defect analysis, and quality metrics.
- Prepare MIS reports for management review and customer audits.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Project Phase:
- Timely establishment of process control systems and QMS.
- Successful process qualification and ramp‑up.
- Compliance with cleanroom and global standards.
- Operational Phase:
- Yield improvement and defect reduction metrics.
- Process stability and capability indices (Cp, Cpk).
- Customer complaint resolution and audit compliance.
- Training hours completed for team development.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Chemical Engineering.
- Certifications / Trainings: Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or Lean certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 15–25 years in solar cell or semiconductor manufacturing with strong exposure to process engineering and quality systems.
- Preferred: Experience in greenfield projects and ramp‑up of N‑Type TOPCon or similar advanced technologies.
- Technical Expertise: Solar cell processes – Diffusion, PECVD, PVD, Metallization, Texturing, Cleaning.
- Core Competencies: Behavioral – Leadership, Analytical Thinking, Communication; Functional – Process Optimization, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement.
Working Conditions:
- Location: Manufacturing facility near Rajkot, Gujarat.
