Job summary

Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) in Kolkata is seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage the building's computer systems, network infrastructure, and IT equipment. The role ensures smooth IT operations, network security, and timely technical support for office staff, tenants, and stakeholders.

You will install/configure equipment, monitor LAN/WAN, handle CCTV networking, backups, security updates, and document maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
• Previous experience in system administration, computer maintenance, and network support.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and software installation.
• Practical experience with LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and basic network security.
• Knowledge of CCTV networking, IP cameras, and access control systems is an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building's network infrastructure and ensure reliable connectivity.
• Monitor and maintain servers, operating systems, and user accounts, where applicable.
• Provide technical support to building management, office staff, tenants, and other authorized users.
• Maintain CCTV network connectivity, access control systems, and other IT-related building systems, where applicable.
• Perform regular data backups, software updates, antivirus checks, and security maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Maintain IT asset inventories, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with internet service providers and external IT vendors when required.
• Ensure IT equipment and network systems remain operational and secure.
