Job summary

Dynamic Staffing Services seeks an experienced QA/QC professional to review supplier documentation for static equipment projects. The role emphasizes fabrication, inspection, and factory testing with occasional travel for critical activities.

The candidate should have a strong background in ASME VIII, welding inspection, NDE and PWHT documentation, along with ISO 9001 awareness and vendor-record control. This is an office-based, technical-review position in India.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier PQPs, ITPs, QCPs, manufacturing and test procedures, datasheets, drawings, certificates and inspection records against contractual and technical requirements.
  • Prepare technically justified comments, assign the applicable review status, verify closure of previous comments and confirm appropriate ITP intervention points.
  • Verify consistency among specifications, datasheets, drawings, procedures and supplier records.
  • Review manufacturing and inspection documentation for pressure vessels, columns, reactors, drums, heat exchangers, air coolers, tanks and other static equipments.
  • Evaluate material certificates and traceability, plate and forging controls, forming, fit-up, dimensional tolerances, internals, nozzles, supports and assembly records.
  • Review WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, weld maps and logs, consumable controls, NDE procedures/results, PWHT records, hardness testing and weld-repair documentation, as applicable.
  • Review hydrostatic, pneumatic, leak, vacuum and other specified test procedures and results, including test boundaries, calibrated instruments, holding times, acceptance criteria and reinstatement records.
  • Verify surface preparation, coating/lining, refractory or insulation records, nameplates, preservation, packing and release documentation, where applicable.
  • Evaluate NCRs, deviations, concessions and waivers; verify close-out evidence and review equipment records within MRBs, MDRs and final data books.
  • Track submissions, open comments and revisions through the VDRL/SDRL and EDMS, and coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project Quality, Expediting and shop surveillance teams.
  • Review technical queries and inspection reports, support PIMs and FATs when required, and identify recurring supplier nonconformities.
  • Attend supplier kick-off meetings, PIMs and technical clarification meetings when required.

Job description

Job Purpose:
  • To review supplier quality and technical documents for static equipments; assess compliance with purchase order requirements, project specifications, datasheets and applicable codes and standards; and ensure timely completion of document review and approval cycles.
  • The India-based position is primarily an office-based supplier-document review role with strong emphasis on fabrication, inspection and factory testing. It is not a routine field or shop-inspection assignment; limited travel may be required for PIMs, FATs or critical inspection activities

Document Review and Technical Commenting

Static Equipment Manufacturing and Test Review
  • Review manufacturing and inspection documentation for pressure vessels, columns, reactors, drums, heat exchangers, air coolers, tanks and other static equipments.
  • Evaluate material certificates and traceability, plate and forging controls, forming, fit-up, dimensional tolerances, internals, nozzles, supports and assembly records.
  • Review WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, weld maps and logs, consumable controls, NDE procedures/results, PWHT records, hardness testing and weld-repair documentation, as applicable.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical equipment QA/QC or supplier-quality experience, including considerable static-equipment fabrication and vendor-document review experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power or industrial projects.
  • Recognized certification in welding inspection, such as AWS CWI, CSWIP or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge of pressure vessels, columns, reactors, drums, heat exchangers, air coolers, tanks and associated fabrication and testing processes.
  • Ability to evaluate materials, forming, dimensional control, welding/NDE, PWHT, assembly, pressure testing, coating/lining and final manufacturing records.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII and relevant Sections II, V and IX, TEMA, API 660, API 661, API 650 and applicable project standards.
  • Working knowledge of welding documentation and fabrication controls, including WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, weld traceability, NDE and repair records, sufficient to assess equipment-manufacturing compliance.
  • Relevant professional certifications in mechanical equipment inspection, quality or related technical disciplines are preferred.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements; auditor certification is preferred.
