  • The India-based position is primarily an office-based supplier-document review role with strong emphasis on manufacturing, assembly, inspection and factory testing. It is not a routine field or shop-inspection assignment; limited travel may be required for PIMs, FATs or critical inspection activities.
Role & responsibilities
Document Review and Technical Commenting
  • Review supplier PQPs, ITPs, QCPs, manufacturing and test procedures, drawings, datasheets, certificates and inspection records against purchase order, contractual and technical requirements.
  • Prepare technically justified comments, assign the applicable review status, verify closure of previous comments and confirm appropriate ITP intervention points.
  • Verify consistency among specifications, datasheets, drawings, procedures and supplier records.
Rotating Equipment Manufacturing and Test Review
  • Review manufacturing and inspection documentation for pumps, compressors, turbines, fans/blowers, gear units, drivers and associated lubrication, sealing and auxiliary systems.
  • Evaluate material traceability, castings and forgings, heat treatment, welding and repairs, NDE, machining, dimensional inspection, shaft runout, rotor balancing, critical clearances, assembly and alignment records.
  • Review hydrostatic, mechanical run, performance, vibration, noise, bearing-temperature, seal-leakage and auxiliary-system test procedures and results, as applicable.
  • Confirm test configuration, instrumentation and calibration, acceptance criteria, performance tolerances, deviations and retest requirements against the purchase order and governing standards.
  • Verify preservation, packing, tagging, spare parts and release documentation prior to shipment
Final Documentation and Coordination
  • Evaluate NCRs, deviations, concessions and waivers; verify close-out evidence and review equipment records within MRBs, MDRs and final data books.
  • Track submissions, open comments and revisions through the VDRL/SDRL and EDMS, and coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project Quality, Expediting and shop surveillance teams.
  • Review technical queries and inspection reports, support PIMs and FATs when required, and identify recurring supplier nonconformities.

Attend supplier kick-off meetings, PIMs and technical clarification meetings when required.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical equipment QA/QC or supplier-quality experience, including substantial rotating-equipment manufacturing and vendor-document review experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power or industrial projects.
  • Strong practical knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, fans/blowers, gear units, drivers, seals, lubrication systems and associated auxiliaries.

  • Working knowledge of welding documentation and fabrication controls, including WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, weld traceability, NDE and repair records, sufficient to assess equipment-manufacturing compliance.
  • Relevant professional certifications in mechanical equipment inspection, quality or related technical disciplines are preferred.
