Job summary

PeopleStrong seeks a QA/QC (Mechanical) specialist to oversee quality assurance and control for mechanical works in power/energy projects. You will review QAPs/ITPs, inspect materials and equipment, and witness tests to ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, API and ISO 9001 standards.

The role requires NDT Level II, welding process control, and strong documentation skills for NCRs, CAPA, and vendor coordination across project sites and offices.

Qualifications

• Shall have worked in power/energy projects focusing on QA/QC/Inspection/Testing of mechanical works.
• Knowledge of ASME Sec I, II, V, VIII & IX, ASTM, API, AWS, IS, IBR.
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during project execution.
• Review and approve Vendor QAPs/ITPs, manufacturing and testing procedures.
• Inspect procured materials and equipment as per approved procedures and QAPs.
• Witness inspections and testing per vendor ITPs.
• Ensure welding works comply with WPS/PQR and welders are approved.
• Verify calibration status of measurement devices.
• Review radiographs and NDE reports.
• Issue NCRs and prepare RCA & CAPA.
• Coordinate inspection with customers, vendors, TPIAs and stakeholders.
• Report progress/testing monthly.

Job Description

Shall have worked at power/energy projects in the area of Quality Assurance / Control / QA/QC/ Inspection/Testing of mechanical works, including equipment, structural fabrications, piping, valves, static & rotary equipment's (Boiler Feed Pump, Condensate Extraction Pump, ACC, Heat Exchanger, etc.

Work profile is as below:

• Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during the execution of Project.
• Review and approval of Vendor QAP's / ITP's, manufacturing & testing procedures.
• Perform new vendor assessment and obtain approval from Customers.
• Inspect procured materials and equipment as per approved procedures and QAPs.
• Witness inspections and testing as identified in the vendor's inspection and test plans.
• Ensure that the welding works are carried out as per the approved WPS/PQR and welders are approved.
• Verify the calibration status of monitoring and measuring devices.
• Review radiographs and NDE reports.
• Review NDE summary sheets in line with weld maps.
• Issue NCRs to vendors for work not performed in line with project requirements. Preparation or review of RCA & CAPA.
• Ensuring equipment and machinery affecting product quality are maintained.
• Escalating any issues that may affect product quality.
• Reporting the progress/testing on a monthly basis.
• Review supplier quality documentation as per standards and specifications.
• Issue Inspection Release Reports/Note
• Inspection co-ordination with customer, vendors, TPIA & other stakeholders
• Shall be minimum NDT Level II in MT, PT, RT, UT
• Shall have knowledge on ASME Sec I, II, V, VIII & IX, ASTM,API, AWS, IS, IBR.
• ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
• Working location: Corporate Office / Project Sites / Vendor Locations / as applicable.
