Job summary

PeopleStrong invites a QA/QC (Mechanical) professional to oversee quality assurance, control, testing and inspection of mechanical works on power/energy projects. You will supervise welding activities, review QAPs/ITPs, and coordinate with customers and vendors for NDT and QC documentation.

The role requires hands-on QA/QC experience across equipment, piping, valves, and structural fabrications, with emphasis on ASME/ASTM/NDE standards.

Qualifications

  • Shall have worked on power/energy projects with QA/QC/Inspection/Testing of mechanical works.
  • Experience in equipment, structural fabrication, piping and valve systems.
  • Familiarity with welding, radiography and NDE processes.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during project execution.
  • Prepare Quality specifications for purchasing packages and review offers.
  • Prepare QAPs/ITPs and obtain customer approval.
  • Review vendor QAPs/ITP's, manufacturing & testing procedures.
  • Inspect procured materials per approved procedures and QAPs.
  • Witness inspections and testing per vendor ITPs.
  • Ensure welding per approved WPS/PQR and welder qualifications.
  • Verify calibration status of measurement devices.
  • Review radiographs and NDE reports.
  • Issue NCRs and conduct RCA & CAPA.
  • Coordinate inspections with customers, vendors, and TPIAs.
  • Report progress/testing monthly; review supplier quality documentation.
  • Issue Inspection Release Reports/Notes.

Job Description

Shall have worked at power/energy projects in the area of Quality Assurance / Control / QA/QC/ Inspection/Testing of mechanical works, including equipment, structural fabrications, piping, valves, static & rotary equipment's (Boiler Feed Pump, Condensate Extraction Pump, ACC, Heat Exchanger, etc.

Work profile is as below:

  • Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during the execution of Project.
  • Preparation of Quality specification for purchasing package/equipment materials and review of offers received from bidders.
  • Preparation of QAP's/ITP's and obtaining approval from customer.
  • Review and approval of Vendor QAP's / ITP's, manufacturing & testing procedures.
  • Perform new vendor assessment and obtain approval from Customers.
  • Inspect procured materials and equipment as per approved procedures and QAPs.
  • Witness inspections and testing as identified in the vendor's inspection and test plans.
  • Ensure that the welding works are carried out as per the approved WPS/PQR and welders are approved.
  • Verify the calibration status of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Review radiographs and NDE reports.
  • Review NDE summary sheets in line with weld maps.
  • Issue NCRs to vendors for work not performed in line with project requirements. Preparation or review of RCA & CAPA.
  • Ensuring equipment and machinery affecting product quality are maintained.
  • Escalating any issues that may affect product quality.
  • Reporting the progress/testing on a monthly basis.
  • Review supplier quality documentation as per standards and specifications.
  • Issue Inspection Release Reports/Note
  • Inspection co-ordination with customer, vendors, TPIA & other stakeholders
  • Shall be minimum NDT Level II in MT, PT, RT, UT
  • Shall have knowledge on ASME Sec I, II, V, VIII & IX, ASTM,API, AWS, IS, IBR.

  • Working location: Corporate Office / Project Sites / Vendor Locations / as applicable.
