Job summary

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the overall operations of the supermarket, ensuring smooth day-to-day store functioning.
• Drive sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence while achieving business targets.
• Manage store P&L, budgeting, inventory control, shrinkage, and cost optimization.
• Ensure high standards of visual merchandising, product availability, pricing accuracy, and store presentation.
• Lead, coach, and develop department managers and store teams to achieve performance goals.
• Monitor sales performance, KPIs, footfall, conversion, basket size, and implement strategies to improve productivity.
• Ensure effective stock replenishment, inventory accuracy, and compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving customer concerns and maintaining a customer-first culture.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, statutory regulations, health & safety, and audit requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead large retail teams.
• Proven experience in store operations, merchandising, inventory management, and commercial performance.
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs, sales analysis, budgeting, shrinkage control, and profit optimization.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in retail ERP/POS systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting and business analysis.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, Retail Chains, FMCG, Cash & Carry, or Large Format Retail are highly encouraged to apply.
