Job summary

JobItUs is seeking an experienced Engineering Stores professional to manage the plant's inventory of spares, tools, and maintenance materials. You will ensure timely procurement, coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams, and maintain accurate stock records in SAP/ERP.

You will monitor stock levels, raise PRs/POs, negotiate with vendors, and drive 5S and safety practices in the Engineering Store while preparing periodic procurement reports.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Stores Management or related field.
  • 2–5 years in Plant Stores / Engineering Stores / Engineering Procurement.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Job description

  • Manage Engineering Store inventory for plant operations, including engineering spares, consumables, tools, equipment and maintenance materials.
  • Ensure timely procurement and availability of engineering equipment, spares, consumables and tools to support uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to understand upcoming and daily material requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimum/reorder levels and critical spares to avoid equipment downtime and production interruptions.
  • Identify procurement requirements and initiate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) based on stock levels and plant requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Purchase/Procurement team and vendors for RFQs, quotation comparison, technical specifications, price negotiation and delivery schedules.
  • Source engineering equipment and materials such as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, utility and maintenance spares.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials as per required specifications and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Purchase, Accounts and other departments for material requirements and delivery.
  • Handle GRN, inward inspection, material receipt, storage, material issue and stock reconciliation through SAP/ERP.
  • Verify received materials against PO specifications, quantity and required technical standards.
  • Maintain proper bin locations, bin cards, stock registers, item codes and engineering store documentation.
  • Conduct periodic/monthly physical stock verification and inventory reconciliation and investigate stock discrepancies.
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete engineering spares and submit reports to management.
  • Maintain adequate stock of critical engineering spares based on equipment requirements and consumption patterns.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, preservation and handling of engineering materials.
  • Maintain 5S, safety and housekeeping standards within the Engineering Store.
  • Prepare periodic reports on procurement status, pending materials, stock levels, critical spares and inventory consumption.
Ideal candidate profile

Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Stores Management or related field.

Experience: 2–5 years in Plant Stores / Engineering Stores / Engineering Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
