The Opportunity

FoodStories is looking for an accomplished Store Director to lead its retail operations in Bangalore. This is a leadership opportunity for a commercially driven retail professional who can deliver exceptional customer experiences, drive revenue growth, strengthen operational excellence, and build a high-performing store team.

Key Responsibilities

• Store Operations: Lead end-to-end store operations, ensuring seamless daily functioning, operational efficiency, and adherence to FoodStories' standards.
• Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive store revenue, profitability, average transaction value, customer retention, and achievement of sales targets.
• Customer Experience: Deliver a personalised, premium shopping experience while building lasting relationships with high-value customers.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop store managers, supervisors, and frontline teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Inventory & Merchandising: Oversee stock availability, inventory accuracy, replenishment, product assortment, and visual merchandising.
• P&L Management: Take ownership of store financial performance, including budgets, operating expenses, margins, and cost optimisation.
• Brand Standards: Ensure consistent execution of FoodStories' brand identity, product presentation, service standards, and premium retail experience.
• Process & Compliance: Implement robust SOPs and ensure compliance with operational policies, billing procedures, hygiene standards, and applicable food safety requirements.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor key retail KPIs, analyse sales trends, identify improvement opportunities, and implement action plans to improve business performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with central teams across merchandising, supply chain, marketing, finance, and business operations to achieve organisational objectives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 8–12+ years of experience in retail operations, with significant exposure to managing premium retail stores or large-format specialty retail environments.
• Previous experience as a Store Director, Store Manager, Retail Operations Manager, Cluster Manager, or in a comparable leadership role.
• Experience in premium grocery, gourmet food, luxury retail, specialty retail, lifestyle retail, or high-end consumer brands will be preferred.
• Proven track record of driving sales growth, improving profitability, and managing store-level P&L.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, merchandising, customer experience, operational controls, and retail KPIs.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
