Responsibilities -

• Provide professional nursing care withan assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.
• Provide comprehensive care to assignedpatients. Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for herpatient.
• Follows policy and delivers designatednursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with thedocumented medical plan of care.
• Takes the nursing history, summarizesdata and states nursing diagnoses / patient care needs.
• Organize and maintain patient file andreports as per the MRD requirements in all shifts.
• Always greet with smile to patient andcompanion for their well-being. Be groomed always.
• Observes and records signs, symptomsand behaviors including the physiological status of patients’ reports,assessment changes to the concerned authority.
• Ensure smooth functioning of admission,discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patients’ activitiesand care with collaborative manner.
• Follow handover-takeover processaccurately with written/online notes.
• Ensure introduction of next shift teammember to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.
• Executes physician’s orders for allassigned patients safely and properly administers medications and treatments.Strictly adhere read back policy
• Ensure identification safety forcollection of specimens during collection and till the report informed toconsultant.
• Participate in consultant’s rounds andassist by giving relevant information based on nursing assessment/reassessmentand observations. Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipment'sare in working order.
• Ensure that all items used for patientsinclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged. Keepequipment’s in charging.
• Ensure during internal transfer exceptthe ordered medicine all other drug to be returned before shifting to otherunit.
• Maintain patients and accompaniessafety by taking preventive measures against accidents. Accurately records andreports incidents. Ensureevery error to be recorded. Ensure strict infection control protocol andbio-waste guidelines to be followed for 24x7. Ensure that daily briefing pointsand sign off are mandatory for day-to-day update.

SpecificUnit Related Nursing Care -

• Responsiblefor safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of employeesassigned to the respective unit. Ensure that all the files (record) arecompletely maintained.
• Ensurethat proper observation records of the patient are made and necessaryinformation imparted to the concerned authorities.
• Ensureproper handling of patient. Follow the Chemo protocols and assist the adverseeffects.
• Have full knowledge ofNeutropenic precautions and it is importance. Assist the stem cell collection.
• Assist and handle thepost stem acute and chronic GVHD. Provide post-operative care to the patientsas per their needs.
• Educate the patient aswell relatives about lymphedema exercise and massaging for various surgeries.
• Educate the patient aswell relatives about post head and neck exercise (lip, tongue and jaw)
• Have knowledge aboutcytotoxic drug management as well segregation its proper disposal methods.
• Have knowledge aboutcentral line care as well dressing precautions. Monitorsvital sign and reports abnormalities. Ensure samples are collected and send toconcerned diagnostic labs . Toensure that staff is taking precaution to avoid blood born infection. To ensurerefrigerator/deep freezer temperature is maintained. To ensure that medicalreports are generated timely. Any other jobs assigned by superior.
