Job summary

Zydushospitals in Ahmedabad district seeks a dedicated nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care, complete the nursing process, and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. You will support patients and families, document care plans, and ensure safety and quality in daily operations.

Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, pre/post-operative care, and coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges with the care team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

JobPurpose

Promotes andrestores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating withphysicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical andpsychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assignedteam members.

Essentialduties and responsibilities

• Provide professional nursingcare with an assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.
• Provide comprehensive care toassigned patients.
• Follows policy and deliversdesignated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent withthe documented medical plan of care.
• Takes the nursing history,summarizes data and states nursing diagnoses / patient care needs.
• Organize and maintain patientfile and reports as per the MRD requirements in all shifts.
• Ensure accurate documentationin nursing assessment sheet, pre and post-operative documents, intake outputchart, ER chart, ICU chart etc. Don’t use other ink to erase, only strike offwith single line.
• Always greet with smile topatient and companion for their well-being.
• Observes and records signs,symptoms and behaviours including the physiological status of patients’reports, assessment changes to the concerned authority.
• Ensure smooth functioning ofadmission, discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patients’activities and care with collaborative manner.
• Follow handover-takeoverprocess accurately with written/online notes.
• Ensure introduction of nextshift team member to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.
• Executes physician’s ordersforall assigned patients safely and properly administers medications andtreatments. Strictly adhere read back policy (Refer policy no. 6 of medicaladmin).
• Ensure identification safetyfor collection of specimens during collection and till the report informed toconsultant.
• Participate in consultant’srounds and assist by giving relevant information based on nursingassessment/reassessment and observations.
• Carry out routine check at eachhandover that all equipments are in working order.
• Keep equipments in charging.
• Ensure that all items used forpatients inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded andcharged.
• Ensure during internal transferexcept the ordered medicine all other drug to be returned before shifting toother unit.
• Maintain patients andaccompanies safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
• Accurately records and reportsincidents.
• Ensure every error to berecorded.
• Ensure strict infection controlprotocol and bio-waste guidelines to be followed for 24x7.
• Ensure that daily briefingpoints and sign off are mandatory for day-to-day update.

SpecificUnit Related Nursing Care:

• Responsible for safety andcomfort of patients, and the health and safety of employees assigned tothe respective unit.
• Ensure that patients arereceived and prepared for OPD.
• Ensure that all the files(record) are completely maintained.
• Ensure that properobservation records of the patient are made and necessary informationimparted to the concerned authorities.
• Ensure proper handling ofpatient.
• Monitors vital sign andreports abnormalities.
• Ensure samples arecollected and send to concerned diagnostic labs.
• To ensure that staff istaking precaution to avoid blood born infection
• To ensure refrigerator/deepfreezer temperature is maintained.
• To ensure that medicalreports are generated timely.
• Any other jobs assigned by superior.
