Job summary

Zydushospitals in Ahmedabad, India is seeking a dedicated nurse to provide professional nursing care on an assigned unit, ensuring comprehensive patient care and adherence to medical plans. The role emphasizes infection control, accurate documentation, and collaborative handovers across shifts.

The nurse will manage admissions, discharges, and transfers, assist with medication administration, and actively participate in rounds, ensuring safety and quality of care 24x7.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care with an assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.
• Provide comprehensive care to assigned patients.
• Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with the documented medical plan of care.
• Takes the nursing history, summarizes data and states nursing diagnoses / patient care needs.
• Organize and maintain patient file and reports as per the MRD requirements in all shifts.
• Always greet with smile to patient and companion for their well-being. Be groomed always.
• Observes and records signs, symptoms and behaviours including the physiological status of patients’ reports, assessment changes to the concerned authority.
• Ensure smooth functioning of admission, discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patients’ activities and care with collaborative manner.
• Follow handover-takeover process accurately with written/online notes.
• Ensure introduction of next shift team member to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.
• Executes physician’s orders for all assigned patients safely and properly administers medications and treatments. Strictly adhere read back policy
• Ensure identification safety for collection of specimens during collection and till the report informed to consultant.
• Participate in consultant’s rounds and assist by giving relevant information based on nursing assessment/reassessment and observations.
• Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipments are in working order.
• Keep equipments in charging.
• Ensure that all items used for patients inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.
• Ensure during internal transfer except the ordered medicine all other drug to be returned before shifting to other unit.
• Maintain patients and accompanies safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
• Accurately records and reports incidents. Ensure every error to be recorded.
• Ensure strict infection control protocol and bio-waste guidelines to be followed for 24x7.
• Ensure that daily briefing points and sign off are mandatory for day-to-day update.
