Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care with an assigned unit accordingto established standards and procedures.


• Provide comprehensive care to assigned patients.


• Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions toassigned patients that are consistent with the documented medical plan of care.


• Takes the nursing history, summarizes data and states nursingdiagnoses / patient care needs.


• Organize and maintain patient file and reports as per the MRD requirementsin all shifts.


• Always greet with smile to patient and companion for theirwell-being.


• Observes and records signs, symptoms and behaviors including the physiological status of patients’ reports, assessment changes to the concernedauthority.


• Ensure smooth functioning of admission, discharge and transferprocedures and assists others with patients’ activities and care withcollaborative manner.


• Follow handover-takeover process accurately with written/onlinenotes.


• Ensure introduction of next shift team member to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.


• Executes physician’s orders for all assigned patients safely andproperly administers medications and treatments. Strictly adhere read backpolicy


• Ensure identification safety for collection of specimens during collection and till the report informed to consultant.


• Participate in consultant’s rounds and assist by giving relevantinformation based on nursing assessment/reassessment and observations.


• Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipment’s arein working order.


• Keep equipment’s in charging.


• Ensure that all items used for patients inclusive of medications,surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.


• Ensure during internal transfer except the ordered medicine allother drug to be returned before shifting to other unit.


• Maintain patients and accompanies safety by taking preventivemeasures against accidents.


• Accurately records and reports incidents.


• Ensure that every error to be recorded.


• Ensure strict infection control protocol and bio-waste guidelinesto be followed for 24x7.


• Ensure that daily briefing points and sign off are mandatory forday to day update.


• Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health andsafety of employees assigned to the respective unit.


• Ensure that all the files (record) are completely maintained.


• Ensure that proper observation records of the patient are made andnecessary information imparted to the concerned authorities.


• Ensure proper handling of patient.


• Monitors vital sign and reports abnormalities.


• Ensure samples are collected and send to concerned diagnosticlabs.


• To ensure that staff is taking precaution to avoid blood borninfection


• To ensure refrigerator/deep freezer temperature is maintained.


• To ensure that medical reports are generated timely.


• Any other jobs assigned by superior .
