Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to an assigned unit following standards and procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive care to assigned patients.

• Maintain patient files and MRD-compliant reports across shifts.
• Monitor patient condition, observe changes, and report to authorities.

• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Ensure safety in specimen collection and reporting to consultants.
• Participate in rounds and provide pertinent nursing assessments.

Job Purpose

Promotes andrestores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating withphysicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical andpsychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assignedteam members.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Provide professional nursingcare with an assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.
• Provide comprehensive care toassigned patients.
• Follows policy and deliversdesignated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent withthe documented medical plan of care.
• Takes the nursing history,summarizes data and states nursing diagnoses / patient care needs.
• Organize and maintain patientfile and reports as per the MRD requirements in all shifts.
• Always greet with smile topatient and companion for their well-being.
• Observes and records signs,symptoms and behaviors including the physiological status of patients’ reports,assessment changes to the concerned authority.
• Ensure smooth functioning ofadmission, discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patients’activities and care with collaborative manner.
• Follow handover-takeoverprocess accurately with written/online notes.
• Ensure introduction of nextshift team member to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.
• Executes physician’s orders forall assigned patients safely and properly administers medications andtreatments. Strictly adhere read back policy
• Ensure identification safetyfor collection of specimens during collection and till the report informed toconsultant.
• Participate in consultant’srounds and assist by giving relevant information based on nursingassessment/reassessment and observations.
• Carry out routine check at eachhandover that all equipment’s are in working order.
• Keep equipment’s in charging.
• Ensure that all items used forpatients inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded andcharged.
• Ensure during internal transferexcept the ordered medicine all other drug to be returned before shifting toother unit.
• Maintain patients andaccompanies safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
• Accurately records and reportsincidents.
• Ensure every error to berecorded.
• Ensure strict infection controlprotocol and bio-waste guidelines to be followed for 24x7.
• Ensure that daily briefingpoints and sign off are mandatory for day to day update.

Specific Unit Related Nursing Care:

• Responsiblefor safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of employeesassigned to the respective unit.
• Ensurethat all the files (record) are completely maintained.
• Ensurethat proper observation records of the patient are made and necessaryinformation imparted to the concerned authorities.
• Ensureproper handling of patient.
• Monitorsvital sign and reports abnormalities.
• Ensuresamples are collected and send to concerned diagnostic labs.
• Toensure that staff is taking precaution to avoid blood born infection
• Toensure that medical reports are generated timely.
• Any other jobs assigned bysuperior.
