Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru, India seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to own Skylo's cloud platform end to end across regions and edge sites, operating a multi-cluster Kubernetes environment.

You will manage cluster lifecycles, implement infrastructure as code, and extend the developer platform with self-service environments while owning CI/CD pipelines for latency-sensitive services. Strong Kubernetes and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Strong production Kubernetes experience, incl. upgrades, networking, resource limits, and debugging failures.
• Hands-on depth in AWS or GCP.
• Exposure to a second cloud, or hybrid and edge infrastructure, preferred.
• Solid infrastructure as code practice using Terraform or equivalent.
• Proficiency in at least one systems or automation language; Go or Python preferred.
• Direct production reliability ownership, incl. pager responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure security: IAM, secrets, network policy, and container hardening.
• Clear written communication, incl. design docs and postmortems.
• Telecom or network infrastructure exposure preferred.
• Experience managing databases and apps with HA of 99.999% preferred.
• Edge or on-prem infrastructure alongside public cloud preferred.
• Compliance-adjacent env (SOC 2, ISO 27001) preferred.
• FinOps cost engineering experience preferred.
• Experience across distributed teams and time zones preferred.
• Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate.
• Must be onsite in the Bangalore office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Own Skylo's cloud platform end to end across cloud regions and edge sites co-located with satellite gateways.
• Operate and improve a multi-cluster, multi-region Kubernetes platform
• Manage cluster lifecycle, upgrades, workload isolation, networking, and resource management
• Build and maintain reviewed, tested, versioned infrastructure as code
• Extend the developer platform with golden paths, progressive delivery, and self-service environments
• Own CI/CD pipelines for stateless services and latency- and availability-sensitive network functions
• Instrument services against SLOs and build metrics, logs, and tracing
• Participate in on-call, lead incidents, and write actionable postmortems
• Tuning alerting and reducing toil through automation
• Contribute to capacity planning, failure-domain design, and disaster recovery testing
• Implement and maintain platform security controls including least-privilege IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, image scanning, and supply-chain integrity
• Automate compliance evidence collection and work with Security on carrier-network requirements
• Write and review design documents
• Review code and infrastructure changes for operability
• Mentor mid-level engineers and improve team practices
