Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering leader to design, build, and operate scalable multi-cloud infrastructure. You will define the cloud strategy, drive modernization, and oversee architecture roadmaps to align with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field required.
  • 5–10 years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform teams.
  • Strong hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP and cloud-native tech.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Certifications in AWS/Azure/GCP or Terraform are a plus.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Cloud Engineering team responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable cloud infrastructure and platforms.
  • Define and execute the cloud engineering strategy, architecture roadmap, and infrastructure modernization initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Design and implement secure, highly available, resilient, and cost-efficient AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
  • Drive cloud migration, modernization, containerization, and cloud-native adoption across applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
  • Establish and improve CI/CD, DevOps, automation, observability, reliability, and infrastructure management practices.
  • Partner with Software Engineering, Security, Product, Architecture, and Operations teams to deliver cloud solutions and platform capabilities.
  • Drive cloud security, IAM, network security, compliance, vulnerability management, and governance across cloud environments.
  • Define standards and best practices for Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, networking, monitoring, logging, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Own cloud availability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization and FinOps initiatives to improve infrastructure efficiency and manage cloud spend.
  • Establish operational processes for incident management, problem management, root-cause analysis, and production support.
  • Monitor and improve cloud infrastructure using observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management tools.
  • Hire, mentor, coach, and develop Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, SREs, and Technical Leads.
  • Conduct performance reviews, define career development plans, and build a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Manage engineering capacity, resource planning, priorities, technical dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Evaluate new cloud services, technologies, and tools and recommend solutions based on security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.
  • Communicate technical strategy, infrastructure risks, operational metrics, and cloud initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing or leading Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure teams.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Cloud Infrastructure, Networking, IAM, Security, High Availability, Scalability, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Experience designing and operating production-grade cloud-native and distributed systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with Linux, networking, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, VPC/VNet, firewalls, IAM, and cloud security.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, and incident management using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, Shell scripting, or other languages for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, automation, platform engineering, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Experience with cloud migration, application modernization, containerization, microservices, and serverless architectures is preferred.
  • Experience driving cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, FinOps, and infrastructure efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, vulnerability management, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Proven experience in people management, hiring, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence, reliability, security, delivery timelines, team development, and business priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, CKA/CKAD, or Terraform Associate are an added advantage.
