Job summary

Super Mechanical Seal in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra seeks an experienced Purchase/Procurement professional to manage end-to-end sourcing for centrifugal pump manufacturing, including vendors, raw materials, castings and machined components.

The role requires 3–6 years in procurement, strong negotiation and vendor-management skills, knowledge of SAP/Tally/Busy or ERP systems, and proficiency in MS Office; immediate joiners preferred and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement.
• Experience in centrifugal pump, valve, mechanical seal or heavy engineering manufacturing industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering materials, pump components and manufacturing requirements.
• Good vendor network in engineering/manufacturing industries.
• Strong negotiation and vendor development skills.
• Experience in procurement of castings, forgings, machined components, raw materials and engineering items.
• Knowledge of SAP, Tally, Busy or other ERP systems.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of ISO documentation and procurement compliance will be an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Immediate joiners will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure engineering materials, components, raw materials and production items as per requirements.
• Develop new vendors and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate price, quality, delivery and payment terms.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery.
• Follow up with vendors for pending orders and coordinate to avoid production delays.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Planning and Accounts departments.
• Procure CI, SG Iron & SS Castings, Forgings, Shafts, Sleeves, Impellers, Bearings, Mechanical Seals, Gaskets, Fasteners, Motors, Valves, Pipes, Fittings and other engineering items.
• Procure SS, MS and Carbon Steel raw materials and machined components.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost and delivery.
• Monitor material availability, inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
• Handle excess, slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
• Resolve vendor issues related to quality, quantity, delivery and commercial terms.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor database, quotations, POs and other procurement documents.
• Support ISO audits and ensure proper purchase documentation and compliance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive procurement.
