Job summary

SSD Recruitify Consultancy seeks a Purchase Engineer to manage end-to-end procurement for engineering components and services in Pune. You will source, evaluate quotations, negotiate with vendors and drive cost reductions.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in mechanical, electrical, electronics, industrial engineering or related field is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement/Sourcing/Supply Chain.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, industrial or consulting environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes and vendor management.
• Hands-on experience with vendor sourcing, negotiation and RFQ management.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end purchase and procurement activities for engineering components, materials, and services.
• Identify and develop new suppliers/vendors.
• Prepare and release RFQs to qualified vendors.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of vendor quotations.
• Prepare comparative statements and analyse quotations using MS Excel.
• Negotiate with vendors for price, terms, delivery schedules and quality requirements.
• Use e-Auction tools for competitive bidding and cost optimization.
• Prepare POs and coordinate internal approvals.
• Follow up with vendors for PO execution, delivery, quality, and timelines.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and records.
• Coordinate with engineering and internal teams to understand technical requirements.
• Identify alternative suppliers, materials and components where applicable.
• Monitor vendor performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Provide regular updates on procurement status, savings, delivery timelines and risks.

Job description

We are looking for Purchase Engineers with an engineering background and hands-on experience in Purchase, Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, and Vendor Management.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing cycle, including technical sourcing, RFQ management, quotation evaluation, vendor negotiation, purchase order creation, and material delivery follow-up.

The ideal candidate should be dynamic, assertive, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and target-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end purchase and procurement activities for engineering components, materials, and services.

Identify and develop new suppliers/vendors.

Prepare and release RFQs to qualified vendors.

Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of vendor quotations.

Prepare comparative statements and analyse quotations using MS Excel.

Experience in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, industrial, or consulting environments will be preferred.

Strong understanding of purchasing and procurement processes.

Hands-on experience in vendor sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation.

Proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and commercial comparisons.

Experience with e-Auction / online bidding tools will be an added advantage.

Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:
