Job summary

HNB Engineers Pvt. Ltd. in Pune requires a Manager/Asst Manager Purchase to lead end-to-end procurement for STP and pumping station projects.

You will coordinate with head office engineering teams to ensure timely, cost-effective material availability, with strong negotiation and vendor-management skills. The role demands deep understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation components, GST/commercial docs, and ERP/SAP/Tally proficiency, with 12–15 years EPC/construction procurement

Qualifications

• Graduate with B.Tech and PG Diploma in Materials Management preferred.
• 12–15 years of procurement experience preferred in EPC/construction or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify capex material requirements in coordination with design engineering departments.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions/indents for civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping items (pipes, valves, pumps, cement, steel, aggregates, fittings, cables, etc.).
• Source and identify local/regional vendors and suppliers near the project site to minimize lead time and freight cost.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate rates, credit terms, and delivery schedules; prepare comparative statements for approval.
• New vendor development, brand comparison on techno commercials aspects.
• Release Purchase Orders / Work Orders as per approved budgets and company procurement policy.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials to site, tracking pending orders and expediting critical/urgent items.
• Complete end to end responsibility of material procurement, transit, insurance and billing.
• Stock statement preparation for submission on monthly basis.
• Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, and price history for the site/project.
• Coordinate with accounts/finance team for vendor payments, invoice verification, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
• Ensure statutory compliance (GST, e-way bills, purchase documentation) for all site purchases.
• Prepare periodic MIS reports - purchase status, pending indents, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives - for management review.
• Support emergency/urgent local purchases to avoid work stoppage at site.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company procurement policies at all times.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the execution of STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and Pumping Station projects at the site. The role requires close coordination with head office engineering teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant material availability. Good technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation machinery is necessary and will be considered key skill. Negotiation skills along with basic financing knowhow of Letter of credit and bank guarantees, bill discounting is necessary.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil/mechanical/electrical materials used in STP and pumping station construction.
• Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Working knowledge of GST, e-way bills, and basic purchase/commercial documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and ERP/purchase software (SAP/Tally or similar).
• Strong follow-up, coordination, and multitasking ability in a site environment.
• Willingness to be based at remote/site locations and travel to local markets/vendors as required.

Preferred Skills

12 to 15 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in EPC, construction, water/wastewater treatment, or infrastructure projects
