Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking an experienced Shift Electrical Maintenance professional to ensure reliable operation of plant electrical systems in a fast-moving FMCG environment. You will handle breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain safety.

Responsibilities include monitoring electrical health, coordinating with production, performing preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnosing faults in motors, starters, relays, VFDs and control panels, and

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–8 years of FMCG experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and maintenance practices.

Job Description:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

To ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of plant electrical systems and equipment through effective breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and timely restoration of equipment, while maintaining high standards of electrical safety, quality and statutory compliance.

Shift Electrical Maintenance

• Attend to electrical breakdowns during the shift and ensure minimum equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in production and utility equipment and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor the health and performance of electrical systems, machines and critical equipment during the shift.
• Provide timely electrical support to Production, Utilities and other functions for smooth plant operations.
• Coordinate with Production and other departments during breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper shift handover, including breakdown history, pending jobs and critical observations.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Execute preventive maintenance activities as per the defined maintenance schedule.
• Inspect electrical panels, motors, sensors, cables, MCCs, PCCs, control systems and other electrical equipment.
• identify potential electrical failures and take corrective actions proactively.
• Maintain equipment history, checklists and maintenance records.
• Support implementation of predictive maintenance practices for critical electrical equipment.

Electrical Troubleshooting

• Diagnose faults related to motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, VFDs, control panels and electrical circuits.
• Troubleshoot PLC-related electrical issues and coordinate with automation/controls teams wherever required.
• Identify recurring breakdowns and support root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Support electrical modifications and improvement projects to enhance machine reliability.

Electrical Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety procedures during maintenance activities.
• Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures before carrying out electrical maintenance.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices by self and maintenance technicians.
• Support statutory inspections, audits and compliance related to electrical systems.
• Maintain electrical equipment and work areas in safe and orderly condition.
• Report unsafe conditions, electrical hazards and potential risks immediately.

Spare Parts & Maintenance

• Monitor availability and condition of critical electrical spares.
• Support identification of critical spares and maintain minimum stock levels.
• Ensure proper utilization of electrical consumables and spares.
• Coordinate with stores/procurement for timely availability of required materials.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain breakdown reports, PM records, shift reports, and other maintenance documentation.
• Analyze breakdown trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in Kaizen, TPM, cost-saving and energy-saving initiatives.
• Support projects aimed at improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and improving maintenance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with plant maintenance systems, SOPs, and work instructions.

OUR PERFECT CANDIDATE

Qualifications: B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience: 7–8 years in the FMCG industry. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance.
