Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in India is seeking a skilled automotive interior trims design engineer to own deliverables from feasibility to release, ensuring timing, quality and manufacturability. You will design door trims, console, headliner and related parts using CATIA, release 3D data in Teamcenter, and prepare DCS and BOM documentation.

You will work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and OEM/Tier-1 partners to validate tooling feasibility and ensure robust design through DVP/CAE

Qualifications

• CATIA hands-on modelling and release exposure.
• Interior trim experience with OEM/Tier 1.
• Knowledge of tooling feasibility and DMU concepts.
• Ability to own interior trims design from feasibility to release.

Job description

Deliver robust interior trim designs meeting timing, quality, manufacturability, assembly, service and validation requirements.

• Own automotive interior trim deliverables from feasibility to release
• Prepare design proposals for Styling/CAS and quality improvement
• Perform tooling feasibility: tool direction, parting line, slider/lifter
• Conduct interface, DMU, assembly and serviceability checks
• Release 3D data in Teamcenter/PLM with quality checks
• Prepare DCS, BOM and review-ready technical documentation
• Interior trims design and development process knowledge
• Plastic part design and tooling/manufacturing feasibility
• CATIA parametric modelling with GD&T and 3D annotation
• Gap-flush, BSR, CAE/DVP and validation awareness
• DMU, interface, assembly and service requirement understanding

Preferred Exposure

• Door trims, pillar trims, IP trims, console, luggage trims, tailgate trims or headliner/sunshade related parts
• Benchmarking for features, ergonomics, weight, cost and global trends
• Supplier feasibility closure and cross-functional issue resolution

Experience

• 4 to 7 years trims design experience
• CATIA hands-on modelling and release exposure
• Plastic/tooling feasibility knowledge
• Interior trim commodity ownership

Industry Preferred

Automotive trims design experience at OEM / Tier 1 / engineering services organization.
