Senior Design and Development for Exterior Trim Components
Will be responsible for designing and developing automotive Exterior Trims components.
The Engineer will define functional requirements, develop system DVPR, DFMEA and function models. The Exterior Trim Design and Release Engineer also is responsible for creating and releasing component performance specifications and drawings. The selected candidate will be required to interact with other functional engineering groups, suppliers, manufacturing plants and purchasing.
CAD Tool: UG NX and TCe, Working Experience in CATIA and PLM will be added advantage Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google applications. 8~10 years of experience in Body release engineering. Automotive product engineering experience in the following areas: Exterior Plastic parts design, using CAD systems UG NX and TCe. Knowledge in Catia V5 and PLM will be added advantage.
Hands on experience on Exterior trim part design and development, plastics material selection process.
Concept Design and feasibility studies of Fascia, Grille, FEM, Claddings, Roof Racks, Spoilers.
Early CAD creation and development prior to supplier award & onboarding.
Design practice/EDP checks and TeamCenter Step Release for Steps C, 2/3/5.
Support resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging/logbook issues.
Good experience in analyzing the styling data and mounting concept creation.
Strong background on Exterior part homologation requirement.
Strong Knowledge in design and development of Exterior Trims part (Front and Rear Bumper, Side Claddings, Roof Rack, RR Spoiler and Emblems).
Broad vehicle knowledge.
Ability to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design.
Ability to productively manage change.
Minimum 8 years of experience using CAD systems (UG NX & TCe) with the ability to position and manipulate models, as well as cut sections, dimension and conceptualize designs.
Automotive assembly plant and/or program launch experience.
Provide CAD models to Global team for initial packaging and feasibility.
Release models in TeamCenter for Step Release milestones.
Complete EDP and gDAP documents at Step Release milestones.
Follow up with ACE / DI teams to ensure closure of logbook issues once CAD is in TeamCenter.
Experience in working with UG NX and TCe is must
Knowledge in CATIA V5 and ENOVIA will be added advantage.
Ability to utilize statistics for problem analysis and performance confirmation.
Strong organizational, program management, leadership and communication skills required.
Result oriented, energetic self-starting leader with ability to direct cross-functional teams.
Should be able to learn new systems quickly (BOM/ECR/Change Management and Stellantis Process)
