Job summary

Evoke HR is looking for experienced Interior Trim Design Engineers in Chennai, India for a leading automotive project. The role involves designing and developing interior components from concept to release, applying CAD standards with CATIA V5.

Candidates must have extensive experience in interior trim design and development, as well as proficiency in related tools such as Teamcenter and Vismockup. Immediate joining is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Automotive Interior Trim Design.
• Hands-on experience in Catia V5 (Part/surface/drawing).
• Knowledge in prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly processes of Interiors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Interior components for vehicles.
• Facilitate Engineering review of the CAD using collaborative tools.

Required Expertise

• Interior Trim design & development
• CATIA V5 Part / Surface / Drawing
• Packaging study & Master Section creation
• Door Trims, IP, Console, Pillar Trims, Air Vents, HVAC Ducts

• GD&T application & CAD quality standards

Preferred candidate profile

• Skill set Interiors: NPD_CAD, CATIA V5, 3DX & Teamcenter
• Hands on experience in Catia V5 (Part/surface/drawing)
• Sound knowledge in packaging study and master section creation
• Design and development of Interior Trims from concept to final design as per the design requirements within the timeline
• Participating in design review meetings and provide solutions
• Knowledge in benchmarking and cost reduction
• Identification and resolution of design related issues during development till release
• Knowledge of prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly processes of Interiors
• Design product to cost targets
• Knowledge in Team Center and Vismockup
• Demonstrate good customer and cross functional relationships
• Problem solving skills (8D / 6-sigma)

Job Description

• Extensive experience on commodities development (for e.g. Interior components like IP & CNSL, Air vents, Ducts, Pillar Trims, Door Trims) new part design, on-going product development changes; digital pre-assembly
• Extensive experience in developing CAD designs in CATIA, based on Engineering direction for commodities in above mentioned PMTs
• Facilitating Engineering review of the CAD using available collaborative tools such as Web-Ex, IM, emails etc.
• Understanding the geometric requirements within the context of the vehicle as defined by engineering requirements
• Applying GD&T for completed designs
• Ensuring the quality of CAD meets CAD Design standards
• Preferred: Cost reduction & benchmarking experience
• Problem solving methodologies (8D / Six Sigma)
• Strong coordination & cross-functional communication skills
