Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Exterior Trims Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in automotive plastic trims design, development, and validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing feasibility, and fit & finish requirements for exterior components.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and release exterior trim components such as bumpers, grilles, body claddings, spoilers, roof rails, etc.
• Work on CAD modelling, packaging studies, and drawing release using tools like CATIA.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Styling, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers) for product development.
• Ensure parts meet engineering, regulatory, and aesthetic requirements.
• Manage design changes, cost optimization, and DFMEA documentation.
• Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities.
• Resolve fitment issues during assembly and support manufacturing feasibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in exterior trims development in the automotive sector.
• Proficiency in CAD tools like CATIA V5
• Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, and painting processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Basic understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
