Job summary

JobItUs in Vapi seeks a Sr. Engineer - Maintenance with 5-9 years of experience to lead preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment on site.

You will supervise maintenance technicians, coordinate with production teams, perform root-cause analysis, and implement improvements to raise reliability, reduce downtime, and control maintenance costs while adhering to safety procedures.

Strong knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and compressors is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Understand pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, compressors, hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and RCA.
• Read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and P&IDs.
• Experience in maintenance documentation and MS Office/Excel.
• Familiar with safety procedures, SOPs, PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and minimize machine downtime.
• Maintain equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and more.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify potential failures.
• Prepare preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, and records.
• Coordinate with production teams for timely maintenance and smooth operations.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and external contractors.
• Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, fitting, and installation.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement RCA and corrective actions.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, modification, and improvements.
• Follow safety procedures, SOPs, PPE requirements, and statutory guidelines.
• Maintain maintenance reports and history; drive continuous improvement.
