Job summary

Luthra Group Company is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer to oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliable operation of plant machinery and utilities. You will implement preventive maintenance schedules, drive TPM initiatives, and ensure safety compliance across rotating and static equipment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of core plant maintenance experience in manufacturing or engineering facilities and holds a BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic ability in mechanical systems, alignment, and vibration analysis.
• Experience with seal replacements and dynamic balancing.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance concepts and TPM basics.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for mechanical assets to maximize uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain rotating equipment (pumps, blowers, gearboxes, compressors) and static equipment (pipes, valves, heat exchangers).
• Oversee utilities and facility systems (cooling towers, compressed air, steam lines) and monitor pneumatic/hydraulic circuits.
• Support TPM, 5S, RCA initiatives and ensure compliance with safety guidelines and LOTO protocols.
• Maintain equipment history, logs, and spare parts inventory in ERP/SAP/Excel.

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Mechanical Engineer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliable operation of plant machinery, utilities, and rotating/static equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum plant uptime, implement preventive maintenance schedules, and enforce statutory safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plant Maintenance & Reliability:
• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for all mechanical assets.
• Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns to minimize plant downtime.
• Maintain and overhaul rotating equipment: centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, blowers, agitators, gearboxes, and industrial air compressors.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain static equipment: piping networks, valves, heat exchangers, and storage vessels.
• Utilities & Facility Management:
• Oversee utility systems including cooling towers, compressed air lines, effluent/water treatment pumping systems, and steam/boiler lines (if applicable).
• Monitor pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, diagnosing valve, seal, and actuator failures.
• TPM, Safety & Continuous Improvement:
• Implement 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures.
• Ensure strict compliance with plant safety guidelines, Work Permit Systems (Hot Work, Confined Space, Height Work), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
• Documentation & Spares Management:
• Maintain equipment history cards, maintenance logs, and breakdown reports in ERP/SAP/Excel.
• Track critical spare parts inventory, raise purchase requisitions, and inspect incoming mechanical components.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years of core shop-floor/plant maintenance experience preferrably in manufacturing, chemical, or engineering facility.
• Technical Competencies:
• Strong diagnostic ability in mechanical systems, alignment, vibration analysis, and seal replacements.
