Job summary

SSG Services Pvt. Ltd. in Surat, Gujarat, is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join its Production Team. You will source fabrics, trims, accessories, and production materials, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely availability for production needs.

The role demands strong vendor negotiation, market research, and cross-functional collaboration to meet production schedules. 14 years in textile sourcing and proficient Excel use are preferred.

Qualifications

• 14 years of experience in sourcing, vendor development, production, purchase, or textile/apparel industry.
• Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and garment production materials.
• Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify new vendors, suppliers, fabrics, trims, accessories, and production materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers for price, quality, MOQ, lead time, and availability.
• Obtain and compare quotations to achieve competitive costing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, Merchandising, and Purchase teams to understand material requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers for samples, approvals, orders, and timely deliveries.
• Ensure materials are sourced according to required quality and specifications.
• Negotiate with vendors on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Maintain records of suppliers, quotations, samples, orders, and sourcing details.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, trends, and cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
• Resolve sourcing-related issues such as delays, quality discrepancies, shortages, and replacements.
• Support the production team in ensuring smooth production through timely sourcing.
• Regularly visit local markets, suppliers, and manufacturing units when required.

About the Role

• Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills.
• Good understanding of costing and market rates.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and follow-ups simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic computer applications.
• Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates with experience in textile, garment, fashion, or export-house sourcing will be preferred.
