Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new suppliers through market research and field visits—primarily in textiles/apparel and other product categories as client requirements arise.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, production capacity, quality systems, and compliance—for both domestic and export-oriented manufacturing.
• Quickly ramp up on unfamiliar product categories and markets when a new client inquiry requires it.
• Maintain and expand a reliable supplier network across multiple product categories.
• Travel regularly to supplier factories for evaluations, audits, and relationship management; monitor performance.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements; compare quotations and recommend sourcing options.

Beyond our core textile business, we also source a wide range of other products for clients as opportunities arise so no two weeks look the same. We work with a network of suppliers and manufacturing partners across India, and we're growing our sourcing team to strengthen that network further.

Job Summary

The Senior Sourcing Executive is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers to meet the company's procurement and sourcing requirements primarily in textiles and apparel, with additional product categories sourced as per client requirements (which can range widely, from packaging to consumer goods to other specialty items). This role suits someone genuinely passionate about the craft of sourcing itself — comfortable picking up a new product category quickly, researching an unfamiliar market, and finding the right supplier regardless of what's being sourced. The role involves supplier visits, factory evaluations, price negotiations, product sourcing, quality coordination, and market research to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely deliveries. The candidate should be willing to travel extensively and build strong supplier relationships across India.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to The Head of Operations & The Managing Directors.

Location

Based in our Head Quarters in Pune with extensive travel to supplier factories and industrial clusters across India.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Sourcing & Development

• Identify and develop new suppliers through market research and field visits — primarily in textiles/apparel, and in other product categories as client requirements arise.


• Evaluate supplier capabilities, production capacity, quality systems, and compliance — for both domestic and export-oriented manufacturing, regardless of category.


• Quickly ramp up on unfamiliar product categories and markets when a new client inquiry requires it.


• Maintain and expand a reliable supplier network across multiple product categories.

Factory Visits & Supplier Management

• Travel regularly to supplier factories for evaluations, audits, and relationship management.


• Monitor supplier performance and resolve commercial or operational issues.


• Build long-term partnerships with suppliers.

Negotiation & Procurement

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements.


• Compare quotations and recommend the most suitable sourcing options.


• Support cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.

Product Development & Quality

• Coordinate product sourcing, sample development, and approvals.


• Attend pre-production, in-process, and final inspections when required.


• Ensure suppliers meet customer specifications and quality standards, including export compliance requirements where applicable.

Market Research & Business Development

• Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and emerging suppliers.


• Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, and supplier meets to identify new products and sourcing opportunities.

Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare supplier evaluation reports, sourcing updates, and cost-saving reports.


• Coordinate with Sales, Logistics, and Operations teams for smooth order execution.


• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Textile Engineering, or a related field.


• 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor development, ideally with a primary background in textiles/apparel


• A genuine interest in sourcing as a discipline — curiosity about new product categories, markets, and supply chains, not just textiles.


• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement software.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in ground-level sourcing and supplier development, with textiles/apparel as the core but exposure to sourcing other product categories a strong plus.


• Familiarity with factory audits, inspections, and export documentation/compliance (e.g., INCOTERMS, export licensing basics).


• Knowledge of procurement regulations and supplier compliance for both domestic and international trade — including category-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., licensing needed for regulated products such as food related products, when such inquiries arise).


• Working proficiency in Hindi and regional languages – Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malay etc relevant to key sourcing clusters, given the extent of factory travel.

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to travel extensively across India, including to key textile/apparel manufacturing clusters.


• Regular visits to supplier factories and manufacturing units for evaluations and audits.


• Attendance at factory inspections, supplier meetings, trade fairs, exhibitions, and customer visits as required.
