Solidworks Design Engineer

Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a design engineer to independently design sheet metal parts and assemblies, develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, and ensure manufacturability. You will follow the Product Engineering process, redesign products to cut costs, and contribute to design and process FMEA. ECN preparation and documenting progress will be part of daily tasks, with clear communication to managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong sheet metal design capability and structural design experience.
• Experience converting 2D to 3D and vice versa quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design Sheetmetal parts and assemblies independently.
• Develop detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal parts.
• Redesign old products to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Contribute to design FMEA and process FMEA.
• Prepare ECNs and maintain project documentation; communicate with managers and clients.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Sheetmetal parts and assembly independently.
• Develop detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for sheet metal assemblies.
• Follow the Product Engineering process. Redesign old products to improve manufacturing and decrease cost.
• Contribute to design FMEA and process FMEA to reduce product launch issues.
• ECN preparation, submissions and Maintain documentation. Writing or presenting reports for project managers and clients. Document and communicate well at each step. Interface with customers, internally and externally, on technical details and project goals. Be the owner of assigned project/task.

Mandatory Skills:

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Ability to read and interpret the Engineering drawings and convert 2D to 3D and vice versa swiftly.
